He also picked up Battier, Artest, Dorsey, Hayes, Jordan Hill, Courtney Lee, Patrick Patterson, Kyle Lowry, and Terrance Williams. All guys that have better defense than the players you mentioned or were chosen for future defense(Dorsey/Hill/Patterson/Terrance Williams).

Chase Budinger is incapable of playing anything resembling defense. I don't understand what goes on in his brain. I specifically remember one play where Brad Miller was lined up at the free throw line, and a quicker player (forgot who) just drove past him. Budinger was lined up at the side where he was driving it. Instead of sliding over to the middle to force a tough layup, he stands there and watches as if he has no idea wtf is going on. As the player expectedly cuts to the middle (where it was vacant of any defenders), Bud then decides he can somehow make an attempt of blocking the shot from the outside.

I've never seen anyone play defense this badly. I think Kevin Martin makes a much better defender than Budinger. At this point I would trade Budinger for a bag of peanuts.

I like RA, but if JVG came back, we'd be playing good defense in three months.

For a little while after he came here, when we had been playing good D, RA bristled when asked about JVG deserving credit for it. We were playing good defense because of RA's assistants, he said.

    This is all on Adelman.
