YES WE DID. We went to the line FIFTY TWO times AND LOST TO THE WARRIORS. You can't play a worse game than that.
Lee and Biedrens still owned us on the boards. I don't understand why this guy was our backup center.
I dont think the Warriors are terrible. They will have a lot of close calls this year tho, because they played a great game and won by 4. We played a subpar game and lost by 4. Playing bad means we get killed, not that we lose. Any team can beat another team on any given night, these are professionals. I don't think we played all that well, but I dont think we sucked. Just my opinion tho.
If we went to the line 52 times and got blown out, I would probably stop watching basketball. Going to the line 52 times and losing is playing bad. No two ways to look at it.
We need to stop making excuses. Yes the golden state warriors were on fire, but it was because we allowed them to get on fire. The rockets did not start playing defense til the end of the 3rd quarter and by that time ellis and curry were already in rhythm. We have to play effective defense throughout the game, not just at the end of the game.
I mentioned our biggest weakness coming into the season would be Defense and that we don't have the firepower to out gun most teams. We need to figure out a way to correct that. Adelman must hire a defensive specialist now!
Too many people look at our players great offensive numbers and think we are a great team without looking at their defensive liabilities. A. Brooks. K. Martin, and Scola are some of the worst defensive players in the league at their positions. We'll still get in the playoffs, but likely as the 7th or 8th seed. As expected without a impact star player.
What can people expect with no true shotblocker on the court and your starting a 6'5 center. You can have the best on the ball defenders in the world, but with no rim protector their borderline useless especially with the offensive talent in the modern NBA. Obviously lessons were not learned from last season. Battier, Lee, Hayes, Jeffries and Lowry are much better defenders with a true shot blocker patrolling the paint than without. Its not rocket science.
It's simple you can't win in COLLEGE WITH A 6'4 CENTER AND WE'RE TRYING TO DO IT IN THE FREAKIN' NBA. THEY CAN'T PROTECT THE BASKET! AT ALL! SAME AS LAST YEAR! THEY LOSE THE PAINT EVERY NIGHT!
Rockets had 66 pts in the paint, only gave up 48 out of 132. They actually won the inside scoring battle, and were only out-rebounded by 6 rebs total. Warriors made 22 FTs, meaning that 62 of their pts came from the outside. 62!!!!!!!!!
