Sometimes a pretty good band can just get so overexposed that they somehow inspire a backlash against them. Such is the case with Def Leppard. Bon Jovi though, man that guy is in the Robert Earl Keen class of 'World's Worst' singers.
Also forgot to say that these bands had signed: Pink Floyd , Queen, The Who, Roxy Music, The Smiths, Yes, and Genesis (well at least the Peter Gabriel led one ).
They both have their moments. Not a whole lot, though, really. I guess I have to give the edge to Leppard, even if their success should rightfully be credited to Mutt Lang. Jon Bon Jovi did have that awesome song on the Young Guns II soundtrack though.
I voted for Bon Jovi mostly as a victory of quantity over quality. Def Leppard had a number of great songs that I've heard too much and don't want to listen to anymore. I still listen to Bon Jovi. The Young Guns II soundtrack is just one of many great albums, and they even had some decent hits recently. I wouldn't call Bon Jovi metal though - maybe rock/pop?
I voted for liking both, probably just because I grew up in the era of hair bands so this stuff is special to me. One advantage, though: Jon Bon Jovi was always hot and only seems to get hotter with age. (I'm sure he knows it, though.)
Oh, you're not kidding! I really like the way his butt....er, uh... Hey, how 'bout that game last night! We really need T-Mac to return soon!
No contest. Def Leppard. They're still put on a great show for anyone that remotely likes their music.
