i think the only way Adelman can actually get some credit around here is if the rockets go 39 - 0. give the man break. for all this short comings his an overall EXCELLENT coach!

His track record shows all his teams have somehow overachieved (with GSW as an exception). His one of the most winningest coaches. These kind of coaches are rare. I'd say, give him talent like the lakers and he would have a championship.

Be thankful for what you have.

Dont get me wrong i think he is a great coach, but it would be interesting to see what Adelman could've done with that type of talent instead of people bashing the guy saying he is sub-par to PJ.

Yeah the rings might show it for the Zen Master but im still not buying it.

Very few people are saying he sucks. If you look at the critical posts most of them start or end by stating he is a HOF coach or a very good coach in general.

    WOOOOOW.

A coach with a 900 wins, makes the playoffs almost every year, not to mention never had great team, never had superstar player on his roaster, made it to the finals twice.... I guess he is mediacore coach...

he had a pretty reasonable answer for the rotation he had tonight.

Most coaches in the NBA live with a very very short rotation during overtimes anyways. We saw that with JVG too. Rambis didn't sub out his guys either.

You serious? What the heck do you call Drexler...His King's team was great. I'm not saying he's not a great coach. Your points are just wrong though.

That made zero sense. Learning to write is important.

On another note, I actually think Adelman would be able to take a team like the Jazz, with Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer, to the WCF. I really think he gets the best out of everyone.

Adelman is a good coach. However, the way he handles minutes and substitutions is baffling.

I look at some other team boards on occasions of playoff matchups and trades. It seems to me that the common coaching complaint among fans throughout the NBA seems to be minutes distributed.

Every team's fans would complain about too many minutes for players they deem a scrub. And how that certain player that oozes of potential and greatness gets little to no playing time.

Just one of those things that's really interesting.

I agree, the rockets certainly have some of the worst fans on the planet. Adelmen took a team with no talent to this record. WHAT THE FK DO THESE PEOPLE WANT?

To be fair to RA though I guess a part of it is also because most fans operate from hindsight. Like for example you'd look at C-Bud not playing for three OTs and say wow that's a stupid move, but if you were at the heat of the moment maybe you didn't want to mess up the flow or maybe you just didn't notice or something.

We lost 4 of the last 6 games, our record could have been much higher a lot of those losses could have been winnable. You think our team has no talent and RA just magically wins us games? Yeah right.

Actually, I wasn't even talking about just in-game, but in general. Lakers fans moan about Fisher playing way too much. Portland fans hated Outlaw. Dallas fans IIRC thought Stackhouse was a scrub. I'm sure there are a lot more, but these just off the top of my head.

The whole Rafer/Ariza bashing thing on this board is hardly exclusive to the Rockets. Every team has these guys.

I think Chase should have gotten more minutes but he is not the savior everyone on this board makes him out to be. Against the Bobcats, he was exposed as the poor defender he is.

He is fun to watch, his jumper is pretty even though it misses more often than not, he can dunk, but he is not a starting NBA 2 guard. As much grief as Shane catches, and as boring and unatheletic as he is, he makes winning basketball plays. He plays D and hits shots when they count. This is for all of the Trade Battier crowd.

He is fun to watch. Chase Bundinger. Perfect point. That is why this board loves him.

Most road games in the NBA, 3 games against LA, 4 against Dallas, 2 against Cleveland, etc, and a 22-17 record for a team that no one thought would make the playoffs. Maybe you should go ahead and jump if that's not good enough for you.

Maybe I missed it, but can someone delineate the adjustments they think Adelman should have made that would have helped us win the game more easily

All I've really seen is "play C-Bud." A rookie who proclaimed he is still not 100% from his ankle injury? Is that pretty much it?

Some of you act like you want a coach to pull players the moment they miss two shots in a row. Knee-jerk substitutions are not the cornerstone of a winning NBA team. If you ask me, his rotations have worked pretty damn well.
