A complete and accurate summary, by someone that (1) voted for trump and (2) continues to be a conservative commentator that to his credit often points out trump's many lies.

    big lie (German: große Lüge)

    His primary rules were:
    (1) never allow the public to cool off
    (2) never admit a fault or wrong
    (3) never concede that there may be some good in your enemy
    (4) never leave room for alternatives
    (5) never accept blame
    (6) concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong
    (7) people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.

That's probably a good idea. Have they not been do that regularly anyway?

What this tells me is that the IG finds there are some appearances of impropriety, but no evidence of any actual corrupt practice. But the appearance of impropriety hurts the reputation of the FBI and the public confidence in its work, so it condemns those things.I totally agree with all that.

This report could have been a good basis for terminating Comey. Trump could have said (of course, he wouldn't do it this way, but a different President might have said) that even though the FBI has been professional in its official activities, Comey has failed to keep the department away from any appearance of impropriety and therefore he needs new leadership in the department. Its too bad for Trump this report wasn't published a year ago so he could use it for cover. But Trump knew this, right, like it said in the Rosenstein memo. And it might have even been sincere to Rosenstein. But we know from Trump's own mouth it was about the Russia investigation. For Trump, 'appearances of impropriety' was a fig leaf for his own impropriety.

But... but he was just being courteous. Never mind he should have been prepped to never salute a member of the military of a hostile country.

Last idea: If this report justifies Comey's firing (or not), doesn't it also justify Rosenstein's decision to create a Special Prosecutor? The FBI was having a public confidence problem, so you create a special department headed by a guy with a sterling reputation who doesn't allow leaks and removes investigators with any appearance of bias. That sounds like the perfect remedy for an FBI with a compromised reputation.

    Which investigation?

    Comey's investigation of Hillary's emails.

IG's investigation of Comey's investigation of Hillary's emails.

    Mueller's investigation.

How do we know the IG is a neutral fact finder? Has anyone reviewed his text messages?

Well, as much as I am sure Clinton got a little satisfaction of pointing that out (and trump's use of an unsecured cell phone)... don't really think it was a good idea to tweet that out.

The tweet referred above is included in Chapter 12 of the IG report, the explanation of which is found below.

LOL... the response says "Hell no" in response to the question "Does it make you rethink your commitment to the trump administration". In other words, the FBI attorney 2 is saying they are still committed to the trump admin.

Absolutely wrong. Even the IG investigation shows in the phrasing of the question below they knew "FBI Attorney 2"s political leanings were anti Trump.

This particular quote was one of many anti-Trump text messages these particular FBI employees had to explain to the IG investigators. The following is the "analysis" of the IG investigation involving all the quotes including this one you are curiously focused on.

You've never struck me as a poster that had much difficulty finding links that can support your suppositions. Apparently, however, in this case you seem to have difficulty with the link to the IG report. So here it is:

If you read their texts they were also vehemently against Hillary as well.

    This is pretty lame, folks.
You can't prove any unlawful, unfair, or untoward action from the FBI, so we have to sift through personal texts to see if there are any (god forbid) people who don't like Trump. And even there, we will select a few and broadcast them on Fox and Friends, ignoring the totality.

Our country is so, so bad at handling and parsing information.

I mean, we would really rather talk about these texts than the fact that a major party's POTUS candidate's campaign manager is rightfully in jail right now for witness tampering? I mean, I'm old and I've never seen anything quite like this.
