I realize you were not thinking of tasteless names and stereotypes. Oklahoma still has a pretty high Native American population, when compared to other states as I believe they rank somewhere around 4 or 5.

Will OK city come in our division? I think Memphis would move out of the southwest division and into the east. They would play in the southeast division. SO here is how it would look...
    SW division SE division
    Houston Miami
    New Orleans Orlando
    San Antonio Washington
    Dallas Atlanta
    Oklahoma City Charlotte
    Memphis
    Any other ideas???

Stern has already said that they won't reconfigure the divisions.

Actually if they kept the name "Sonics" it would make some sense . The Sonic Restaurant chain is from Oklahoma . I'm just kidding, but it is kind of strangely coincidental though .

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_Drive-In

All of the names mentioned so far sound like minor league baseball team names .

No way they move Memphis to another conference. There are 15 on each side right now. Moving one would imbalance the league for schedules, playoffs and lottery. And, looking at a map, there's no EC team that'd make more sense to put in the WC than Memphis.

They could shuffle divisions within the WC. But, there's no one in the SW division that'd make more sense to move out than OKC. The Pacific division would span a very large area of land. But, they already do.

This is going to be bad....Oklahoma common.

Oklahoma has a market equavalent to Milwakee. I don't understand how stern would allow a move away from Seattle

The "Oklahoma Suck" (no plural) seems to fit for a lot of reasons. The team will suck (sound like current Sonic players are not too happy, who would want to work for that owner and in that place compared to other NBA spots--they also have been pretty crappy in moves/drafts post last draft), the place, the way it happened.

"Hey Billy Bob, howd you like the Suck's game last night?" "Not bad, we got bombed as usuall but at least that Ustun team brought their girls to look at"

Hopefully Durant gets his butt out of there in 12/13.

I heard it might be Oklahoma City Thunder, colors- red, white, and blue. The name sounds alright, but lots of teams have the colors- red, white, and blue.

I feel sorry for the players.

Imagine being drafted to one of the NBA's great clubs, with a city that really supports the team......and then you get moved to Oklahoma City to be set up with some new plastic sounding franchise just so the local rich guy can watch the NBA at home.

I hope all their top players ditch the Oklahoma City team as soon as they can.

I can honestly see this new team being hated around the League because of what the new owners have done and what the league allowed them to do. Its everything that is wrong with the NBA at the moment.

Thing is it's still better than New Orleans ever was for the Hornets.
Everyone in the NBA FO knows that the Hornets should have been left in OKC but Stern I guess decided it would be good pr to let the Hornets return even though the only team folks in New Orleans care about are the Saints.

That's interesting considering all the owners except Mark Cuban and Paul Allen approved the move.

It is more than that, owners will support anything that gives them more influence and control. By supporting this carpetbagger they enhance their own leverage and threats to their own cities.

Haha brilliant! And they could have girls in skimpy shorts and roller blades serving you while you watch the game. No need for dancers/cheerleaders, just hot Sonic girls skating around half naked. With the talent the team has, I'm sure most people would be more interested in watching the girls than the game. Unless of course, Houston is in town.. cus Tmac is just too secksy.
