Making a brace for this guy can't be easy. His legs are like trees. His thigh is as far around as a normal person's waist. Still, in any case, get 'er done, and get it done right.
One of the leargest shoe companies in the world (Reebok) couldn't get him the right shoe earlier in the year (according the JVG anyway).
Seems like faulty reasoning to me. The quote is he resume some contract drills, not cleared for full contact and practice. That is what will begin in the next 10 days (early March). Jumping to he "will be returning to the court by early March" seems to be a bit of a stretch, unless they just meant practice court. I'd assume that his in-game return would more likely land in the mid-Mar neighborhood. I was told yesterday from a Rockets employee that word in the TC was that the team was going to bring him back extremely slowly and cautiously, given how well the team has done in his absence. Take that as you will. Evan
If that's the word da street, then it's excellent news. As much as I miss him in the game, his health should always take priority.
haha....it looks like an outfit that my grandpa refers to as a "Safari Suit". Im not sure which culture it originates from.
HTML: Houston Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy has always insisted that Yao Ming's life in the NBA would be much easier if maybe the center was perhaps five or six inches shorter because the seven feet, six inches of length deliver a beating to Yao's lower body. 7 feet.. short wingspan.. weak upper body.. i doubt yao can be this successful if that is the case... i dont think his lower legs issue is a concern since his legs r so strong
you guys need to check out the yao video it gave me chills http://www.nba.com/rockets/gallery/videoplayer.html
Photos of Yao Ming in Atlanta in the pre-game team practice. So even Yao Ming's presence at the courtside in Atlanta could not boost/motivate his team mates to step up and win over that scrap team........ !@#$%^&*()*&^%$#
I can see why it affects his running. That thing is huge. Not only its it a knee brace, if it were any longer it would be an ankle brace too.
I hope yao can read this... Please learn from Amare Stoudamire's mistake that is dont come back when you are not 100% healed! The rockets need yao in the long term than this season! Hope yao wont force himself to come back too early!
completely different injuries. Yao should be cautious, and the doctors are cautious, but he didnt have surgery, so that wouldn't be a problem. However, if he is using the brace and running awkwardly, that might've be a problem.
I don't get why they have a knee brace on him...he had a BONE fracture...a Knee brace will do nothing to help that. DD
Yeah, what is up with a knee brace. Did he also have ligament damage? That does not look good at all. I am watching Boozer and his brace looks more comfortable then Yao's.
I know you mean well but don't you think that the people who are making him wear it are qualified to make this judgement? Just let the doctors and experts do what they do best - just keep being you. Of course no hard feeling.
I hate to even think this way and I don't mean to hijack the thread or anything like that, but what do we do if Yao suffers yet another leg/foot injury somewhere down the line? Would it then be a major concern for this organization moving forward? I actually never thought I would be saying this, but I am actually more worried about Yao continuously dealing with injuries to his lower body -- due to his mammoth size -- than I am with McGrady's back muscles; at least with the latter, with the right/correct treatment, you can still have the guy on the court and he isn't out for as many games at a time. I am really worried about Yao's long term health, this guy can either be the building block of the franchise for the next decade or a set us back for at least the next decade...there is no middle ground here.
