"Yao Ming $15m per year Present deals Visa, Apple computers, Gatorade, McDonald’s, Garmin computers, Nike, Unicom (Chinese mobile phone), Pepsi" I thougth he's a Reebox's guy?
I guess I'm the only person that heard the update today, but fwiw David Delotti on 790 reported that Yao would be back to full practices in 2 weeks and then 10 days later be available for games. 28 days and counting!
please god! that would give yao, what? about a solid month+ of regular season to get back to game shape and enough time to (hopefully) get him fully integrated? great news.
Yao Ming himself said that yesterday afternoon to the press when he visited the Chinese Community Centre at Houston. My translated article will follow shortly on what Yao Ming told the reporters.
Yao Ming took sometime out yesterday afternoon (February 12) to visit the children/kids at the Chinese Community Centre of Houston, and wished them all a Happy Chinese New Year.

But the 7-foot-6 center said he's still at least three weeks away from returning to play for the Houston Rockets after breaking his right leg. Yao says he hopes to practice in two weeks. He spent the afternoon at the Chinese Community Center, talking with about 100 children about the Chinese New Year, which falls on Saturday. He answered questions, signed autographs and presented each child with a red envelope containing a dollar, which is a Chinese New Year tradition. Yao discussed how the New Year is a time to be with family and lamented that he won't be able to be with his this weekend. The perennial All-Star will participate in N-B-A All-Star festivities.
In the following article from Zhang Yi of Sohu Sports from Houston, Yao Ming talked to the press about his rehabilitation, hinted about an early return by early March, and vowed this will be one of his great personal best seasons of NBA.
One information Pryen left out was that Yao also distributed a children's book "Little Yao learns to share". Nah, I made up the name.
Naaaaah, according to an article from sina.com, Yao Ming did give every of those kids an autographed children book with the red pocket (i.e. Lishi) of US$ 1 in it.
OOPPSS, as clearly shown on this photo, the book that Yao Ming distributed was a magazine for youngsters, but with an exclusive article of him as well as have him on the cover !!
I was joking about the title being "Little Yao learns to share". T.O.'s first children's book was called "Little T learns to share", which sounded pretty funny to me, considering he is such a selfish jerk.
After reading a couple more news on the visit, I tend to think the book Yao Ming distributed out to the kids was a promotional booklet printed by the Houston Rockets !!
