I don't understand why he's so obsessed with the rolleyes either. I've actually adblock'ed it now. Gotta love that tool. Still remember how he used colorful fonts for all his messages when he first joined? Man my eyes hurt by just looking at those red fonts...
Of course no one noticed what you described, cos you sure don't know what you're talking about....a lacklustre Yao Ming playing absent minded, and suddenly rose up to the occasion to get himself injured. In that particular game, Yao Ming was injured 5 minutes or so into the game. And even though the game with LA Clippers was a back-to-back game right after a history making win over San Antonio Spurs, Yao Ming did not play for most of the 3Q and 4Q in the game with the Spurs due to foul troubles after leading the Rockets to a massive lead by 1H. He played only 26 minutes in the win over the Spurs. Before his injury, Yao Ming had shown that his stamina had extremely improved to sustain playing over 35 ~ 40 minutes (even in back-to-back) without any impact, particularly in those stretches that Tracy McGrady was sidelined. And he played each and every of those games without Tracy McGrady to the best of his capabilities, and led by example for his team mates to strive for wins in absence of Tracy. So it is nonsense and rubbish to suggest he played lacklusterly and was extremely tired in the game with LA Clippers, and therefore got himself injured. Yao Ming had been considered an iron man for his first 3 seasons, seldom missed a single game. He was forced to miss his 4th season for a bad toe and a left foot surgery. But this injury on the right knee/leg was freakish, purely accidental, and bad luck. If you have watched the game with LA Clippers, you'll know every single NBA player would have his tribia cracked when 2 200lb-plus guys fell hard onto their knees. But surely that does not mean that Yao Ming asked for his injury himself by committing a stupid mistake, as some posters correctly pointed out, when you played on court, you played subconsciously and not consciously, i.e. you can't play with that kind of mindset of "Hey, should I contest that shot or should I attempt to block that shot, cos if I do that, I will get injured ?"
Yup he is right.. if you play afraid of injuries, you'll be like the T-mac before he sought John Patterson's help.
Well I say rubbish to you!! Because having watched the game, as a 24 year fan of the Rockets, I am only reporting what I observed. In no way was I being demeaning to Yao Ming! I am saying that he had been playing too many minutes and was overly tired in the game of injury. I only say what I see and believe to be true.Y
Please say it to yourself before you say it outloud. Or in this case write it down before you type it.
So any word on how Yao is really doing? I hope he is doing well not only for the rockets sake but I like the guy.
Lol the injuries yao has suffered have nothing to do with wear and tear. Last year someone kicked him in the foot which broke it and this year someone fell on him. Both injuries that were just freak accidents. To see the true definition of wear and tear, look no further than shaq and seeing all the injuries he's been racking up lately.
If Yetti could drop the tonguing thingy and pryuen could forsake the rolleye, they would reach agreement in no time.
Pryuen stole Simon Cowell's catch phrase. LOL. As to the matter in contention, I am not sure Yao was injured because he wasnt well prepared. Certainly I noticed he contested a whsitled play like crazy trying to send a statement some sort. If we had to blame, that curse thing he spit out in the previous meeting with the Clippers backfired. Lesson learned, what goes around comes around. And dont curse , kids at home.
It was only 6 minutes into the game. We'd really all like you to explain how he was so tired that he got injured one day after playing 26 minutes against San Antonio, and 6 minutes against the Clippers. Also, one other question. Has Yao ever done anything wrong? Cite one example. It doesn't have to be basketball-related.
How was he OVERLY tired, after playing only 5 minutes in that game with LA Clippers ?? To give you another example of how Yao Ming had improved his stamina, and had nothing of the so-called stamina problem or lacklustre play you mentioned, on December 17, i.e. 6 days prior to his injury on December 23, Yao Ming was suffering from diarrhea prior to the game with LA Clippers; he had some sort of food poisoning after taking spaghetti + salmon in the hotel the night before. He had to go to toilet 5 to 6 times during that day, was dehydrated and had to skip team practice. Everyone thought he would have to miss that game. What happened ?? He played almost 39 minutes, scored 32 points/10 rebounds, and led the Rockets to win 108 vs 103 there at Staple Centre.....and it was a game won without Tracy McGrady.
He was staying in the hotel at night in LA, feeling hungry. He ordered room service. Spaghetti is one of his favorites. He ordered a separate dish of salmon sashimi. Properly that was the reason that caused the diarrhea.
