DEC: 2021 - Where ya Streaming? Which ones you taking into the new year? Netflix Amazon Prime Apple TV Disney Plus Hulu Paramount Plus HBOMax Peacock Tubi Kweli TV OTHER - Please Name (what others are out there worth anything
I've got Amazon and Apple + so am streaming those. I also stream a lot of content on YouTube. Even with only two paid channels I'm way behind on viewing. I'm working my way through Ted Lasso and will probably finish it this weekend.
I waste about 15 mins of my life every night and scroll through most of those, just to turn it off and watch Everybody loves Raymond on tv.
I suggested it in another thread. I'll mention it again... Yellowjackets. I hope it does well, I am really liking it right now.
Netflix and prime are still my go-to. Disney Plus for some marvel/SW that I expect way too much for TV. Paramount Plus started adding commercials to the tier I was in. What a joke. Peacock also has commercials for lower tiers but I haven't used it since the Olympics. HBO Max is free if you have an unlimited wireless plan
YouTubeTV, Philo, Amazon Prime, Paramount+ I'm thinking about adding Disney+. If YouTubeTV ever gets the History Channel, I'd drop Philo, probably. The only reason I have Amazon Prime is for the online shopping/shipping. I doubt I'd get it just for the movies/shows. I got Paramount+ just to watch the new Star Trek stuff pretty much, but they had a 50% deal for a year, so I got that. I probably won't renew for a year unless they have another good deal because I really don't watch anything on there other than Star Trek, and I can probably wait for entire seasons of Discovery and Picard to finish and just binge-watch those on a monthly basis.
Netflix Amazon Prime Apple TV Disney Plus Hulu Paramount Plus HBOMax Peacock split cost between me, my brother & wife, and his in-laws. I'm so far behind in stuff I'm interested in seeing it's ridiculous (don't watch many TV shows at all during baseball season) and pretty much overwhelming, so I finally broke down and started a list a few days ago.
I just cancelled Paramount + I had not watched anything in months I get HULU with Disneyplus Amazon plus is for the deliveries the shows are just a bonus never tried Philo I think I got Peacock .. . don't think i am paying for it at this point though HBOMax is free with my cable plan Rocket River yea. . .got streaming AND lower level Cable - but the Gig Speed internet is cool
Philo is probably the cheapest way to get the History Channel if you want it and don't have it. The only reason I have it is for the TV ONE channel so I can watch old epsiodes of Good Times, Jeffersons, and Sanford & Son when they're on (lol), but mostly so I can get the History Channel. If YouTubeTV ever got the History Channel, I'd drop Philo since I pay $20/month for it. I think it's up around $25/month for new subscribers now. I'm with you on Paramount+. My yearly subscription is up in March. I'll probably cancel when that's up and then just binge-watch all the Star Trek episodes on a monthly subscription and cancel when I'm done until the next seasons of the new Star Treks.
I use Netflix (just switched to Tmobile, and they pay for the netflix) and Amazon Prime. I have Disney plus, but will add the Hulu and ESPN + Bundle since Tmobile is taking over the netflix. More than enough shows. I do have an HD Antenna, and recently got the Fire TV Recast, so I can record football games and whatnot, and "stream" those to my phone if I need to on the road.
It's true that the new bailiff is the weakest part of the new show. He looks really uncomfortable having to tell people to shut up. Byrd was much better.
PSA: If you have an Amex Blue, you can get 6% cash back for streaming services. https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/credit-cards/best-credit-cards-for-streaming-services I have: YouTube Premium 11.99 month Disney+ 79.99 year Netflix Premium 17.99 month (HBO Max I get for 'free' with ATT wireless) (Prime Video with Prime) Monthly I pay: $36.65 = $2.20 cash back Yearly I pay: $439.75 = $25.39 cash back I'm considering bumping my Disney+ up to the bundle that includes Hulu ad-free, which would be $20 a month. Amex Blue pays 6% back on all of these services: Amazon Music Unlimited Apple Music Apple TV+ Audible DirecTV Stream (formerly known as AT&T TV or AT&T TV NOW) Disney+ ESPN+ Fubo TV HBO Max HBO (standalone streaming subscription only, formerly known as HBONow) Hulu iHeartRadio Kindle Unlimited Luminary MLB.TV NBA League Pass Netflix NHL.TV Pandora Paramount+ Peacock Prime Video Showtime Sling TV SiriusXM Streaming and Satellite Spotify Stitcher TIDAL Music YouTube Music Premium YouTube Premium YouTube TV Another perk of having the Amex Blue is the 6% back on groceries, up to $6k per year. That's $360 per year cash back. This easily pays for the $95 membership fee. Lastly, I use it for all of my big purchases for the 1 extra year extended warranty. It got me a 'free' Apple watch when Apple wouldn't cover under it's warranty: https://www.americanexpress.com/con...W_Benefit_Guide_314-399_EDT01.20REV_10.20.pdf $25 may not seem like a lot but I 'churn' all of my purchases through cash back cards and pay them off completely each month. It nets me four figures a year in cash back, which isn't taxable. Very little effort with a nice upside.
Netflix is my main stream option, but I will rotate in HBO or Disney every now and then. Binge want I want and drop it before it renews for another month. I also have an antenna and end up watching the a lot of older tv shows. If a person lives anywhere near a big city. Hook up your tv to the coax cable and do a antenna channel search. You might be amazed at what all you can get for free.
