Sure... here's a few trying for the Senate... some of the House contestants are just as deep off the end and much less polished.

Joe Miller (Crook, liar, wants to eliminate the minimum wage, against direct election of senators, etc.)
Rand Paul (Too numerous to mention)
Ken Buck (Against direct election of Senators.)
John Raese (thinks we should make it a priority to put 1,000 lasers in space to shoot down rogue states' missile attacks.)

How about those in the governor races?

Tom Emmer of Minnesota, thinks states should be able to nullify Federal laws they don't like.

Dan Maes of CO, thinks city bicycle paths are a UN plot and a gateway to abortions.

But of course, every Republican Senate candidate thinks climate change is no big deal. Most refuse to rationally discuss things like evolution. Then there are the economic stances that are just completely irrational and absurd. Oh, and then there are the ones supporting an impeachment of Obama. And government shutdowns.

Like I said, I understand why Delaware gets a lot of press and even Angle because she is Queen of the loonies, but there are literally a hundred or more Republican candidates for Senate, House, or Gov who are saying ridiculous and easily proven false statements that are met with a "meh" on behalf of the press and the public.

    Crazy is the new norm.

Because the norm has failed America. Or haven't you looked at the economy lately?

I was speaking more in relative terms (i.e. Coons' apparent intelligence, vs. that of O'Donnell).

If the norm has failed we should be going for something above the norm, and not something sub-norm.

Look at these clowns. Evolution isn't real? Overt racists? Because the norm wasn't to people's liking this is what should replace the norm?

The GOP used to call themselves the big tent party but they weren't really. Well now they've opened the tent flap to let more folks in, but rushed in wasn't more thoughtful candidates with different view points, but a bunch of hysterical loonies who don't seem to have the education of a 6th grader. The GOP is throwing up these kinds of nuts and somehow that's going to help?

stupid, corrupt, racist, and cooky are the four pillars used to discredit any GOP candidate

Won't work this cycle since they are out of power, doesn't stop the left from trying though.

In other news, Pat Sajak, surely the intellectual heir to Buckley, Jr., opined that public employees shouldn't be able to vote in elections because they have "too much at stake." A host of other wingnuts came out in support.

I sense a TP groundswell for Sajak. Look our Mitt.

Sometimes they apply. In the cases we are discussing here, stupid definitely applies, and cooky does as well.
