Austin Driving school had Camaros and Z28s back in the 80s was fun never forget the instructor yelling at me as she painted her nails as the dips on the outside lane from the storm drains on Lamar caused the car to bounce messing up her nail, it was the place to go until the HS instructor started using a BMW as his drivers ed vehicle.
The high end Camaro models look cool, but the lower end and base cars of this generation have always had an odd design -- Challengers and Mustangs just look better and have a classic style.
I remember in the 80's, some areas in Mo City got the IROCs while people like me got stuck with the base model Camaros. I remember getting in the car and the drivers ed teacher telling me to put it into reverse. I shifted and the shifter knob came out in my hand. I was like "wth?" Then I stepped on the gas and I swear it sounded like somebody threw sand into the engine. About 25 years later Bob Lutz goes around telling GM cars used to be embarrasing but no more! ... yeah, ok... thanks Bob. I remember it well.
