If Tracy feels that he will be back to his old self by waiting 3 weeks, then do it. If the consensus is that it is all mental, and he feels he will be cured in 3 weeks, then wait. I'd rather him be sitting out and getting healthy for the rest of the season than limping around and missing games here and there because he is convinced he is hurt.
IMO, just one quick description of Tracy. FOOLS GOLD! You think you have something valuable, but at the end of the day it's worthless. Tracy "Fools Gold" Mcgrady When was the "Last" year that Tracie has put in a whole 82 game season? Has he ever?
Research my sig my man....you are a little late to the party. DD (Edit) I changed my sig for Christmas...it used to read. "Tracy McGrady is a synonym for Iron Pyrate.
I haven't looked at stats, but it seems to me that playing 82 games a season is not the norm. Very few players are able to play all 82 games season after season.
I think those to mother*&$@ers Stockton and Malone had several seasons where they didn't miss any games. Those guys were built out of iron it seemed like. I can't think of anyone 12 years in who doesn't miss games.
Some of you are the most reactionary, short-sighted, annoying fans I have ever seen. None of you have intimate knowledge of the situations ANY of these players are going through, and yet speak as if you do. Few of you have the expertise to make a legitimate diagnosis and yet because of some news articles you read, you armchair surgeons feel you know exactly what these players need to do. You insult your players constantly until the next time they perform to a level YOU feel is the minimum for which they are capable, regardless of any of the circumstances that may be surrounding their lives. You sound insensitive, spoiled, and downright bratty, and make me ashamed to be a Rocket's fan.
- The core of the team is essentially the same the last 4 years, have they come out of the first round? You've got two unstable and erratic starters in the lineup in Artest and Alston, I'm not sure if they're dependable. I'm not a Rockets fan, I'm a Laker fan but I do follow the Rockets closely and they were a fun team to watch. I started liking them since the 04/05 season with Barry, James, Sura, Padgett group...they were awesome. Thanks for backing me up but unfortunately I'm not a Rockets fan.
So true, OP. I love everyone saying "You don't know how Tracy feels!" Do they themselves know how Tracy feels? Perhaps he's feeling a bit o' Camp Chen-a-wanda? Half the posters on this board still think Steve Francis is an all-star. How you going to convince them that T-Mac will not come back to be this year's scoring champ?
Look if this was something that didn't happen that consistently then I would be on your side but unfortunately it happens EVERY F*(*&ng YEAR with TMAC. Its the beginning of the season and people shouldn't be so stressed out about it, but we are paying an a**load of money to someone who can not play 1/3 of the season. He is getting paid superstar money and he is nowhere near superstar status anymore. And you say that people are being insensitive, THE DOCTORS SAY HE IS FINE AND SHOULD PLAY IT OUT. If anyone feels sick (at any other job) but the doctors say that they are fine, that person is going to have take their a** to work.
King1, I'm cool with the hard time I've received. It's no big deal. What amazes me is the division on this board. It looks like you have to choose one side or the other. And then, so many of the newer posters don't seem to be able to discuss their positions in a rational manner. Instead, they make obscenity laced posts & resort to childish name calling because someone had the audacity to question their hero. In fact, some of them seem to be enraged over it. They need to realize it's nothing but a game. By the way, what was so weird about the post? Was it the green ball reference?
Yeah im not happy about him being out 3 weeks he is on my fantasy team but you dont see me writing him a letter.
Dear Hottoddie, I would love to play ball. Busted knee, no biggie. Arthritic shoulder, no problemio. Rigid back, run through it. I'll play basketball even when I can't concentrate. I'll drive every possession even though I have no lift and can't finish. I'm going to be the focal point of the offense and play like mucus because hey, some fans on Clutchfans told me to. I'll jeopardize my career. I'll ditch playoff aspirations and refuse to rest myself A.K.A. Ginobili. My team will totally blow up if I don't play. Our 7'6'' center is softer than Adam Morrison and this guy called Artest is a bust. The schedule that we're facing the next three weeks is unbelievably gruesome, with 21 games in a row, the games being against Lakers, Celtics, Lakers, Celtics, Lakers, Celtics, etc. I'll play until I drop. You see, I play ball even when I'm 0%, because that's my job as the leader in the team. Yours truly, T-Mac
I think Tracy thinks he's out of game shape, and that he needs to be more athletic, which is true. I'm sure he'll be rehabbing his knee, and working back into game shape. I'm not sure exactly how he'll do that if he can't lift weights, but I'm sure he'll be doing some cardio work. Let's just hope Tracy comes out with a rejuvinated (not fully, cause that'd be impossible) body, and will be ready to play against those younger, faster players who were running circles around him.
I would rather McGrady rehab now and be ready for the later part of the season. Disappointing not to have him, but if his knee is bothering him then there isn't really any point in him aggravating in further, or dragging it around the court. Let him heal up and come back 100%.
