    Dear OP,

I just wanted to drop you a line & let you know that I'm not real pleased with your decision to keep criticizing the leader of this team and not allowing the calm, reasonable posting of others on this board to sink in. I don't mean to be mean about this, but it's not like this is the first time that patient fans have had to read similar threads which are either knee-jerk in their nature, overly dramatic, or both. In my job, I'd be fired on the spot if I sent a mass email to the whole workforce alleging that one of my superiors was a wuss especially if I didn't even have any medical information to back up my claims. The color I'd most quickly see in that situation would be a pink (slip).

you can't really argue with a guy who compares guys at the local ymca with nba players.

if t-mac was doing this against everyone's wishes, he'd be suspended. he hasn't been. i'm not going to try and psychoanalyze an nba player i've never met from behind my computer screen and i will criticize absurd attempts to do so.

criticize a player's game on the court all you want. but when one starts criticizing someone for something one has no idea about (and i don't care how many examples one cites, no one has any idea how t-mac's knee is feeling other than t-mac) and citing the local ymca as an example, i'm going to call that person a hater. no two people recover the same. no two people's bodies are the same. if t-mac feels he can't go and the club agrees enough that they're not suspending him for insubordination, i'm going to support the guy on my team instead of trying to psychoanalyze.

and with that, i'm done with this argument since it's not worth the time.

Couldn't agree more, and for you thread starter, your a moron, and you just one of those bandwagon T-mac hating prick. Would you rather have a 30% worker who's production is low and stay low until he recover from his injury or rather giving him time off for him to recover and get to 100%, that can produce, and help out a lot more, that just a over use machine.
Tmac have done more for this team than, any other player on this roster right now.

uh, I don't think you really followed Hakeem's career that much. This bbs would have been really pissed at him for several times before the titles...hard to find articles about this,,,pre-internet and all. But, do you realize that when Barkley became a Rocket, the Rockets went something like 22-1, or was it 21-2 to start the season. At something around the 15-1 mark, Hakeem got injured by drinking cold water too fast at half time...and he sat for over a week, claiming heart palpitations. That is absolutely true. He went in at halftime and claims to have drink water too fast. I can find this article...I'm sure tinman can too. but trust me.

Hakeem did this again his last year here. He was made at Rudy...and probably Francis, too. And played beautifully starting with the New York game of his last year. I think he went beyond his physical stamina to prove a point, then shut it down, once again claiming heart palpitations. The doctors said he needed blood thinners and would be out for the year He was fully shut down. Lo and behold, one week later, there was some miracle cure to allow him to play again.

    Hakeem wasn't a saint.

Hey I am not arguing against you man. You are right, no two people are the same, especially we are speaking about Tmac who have the skinnist legs for his size, i would expect it to take more stress than normal athelets.

All I am saying is that DD just expressed his concern. I believe everyone on this board is concerned about Tmac as this is THE year for us. I am just worried about him returning just the same as him now...

Dude, some people's body just can't handle the wear and tear of the NBA season, which is apparent in Tmac. He can still be an amazing player because of his talent, but to be 6"10 and do all that running, its completely understandable for someone as fragile as Tmac to be having injury issues. Your body wasn't build to do all that workout all the time, and there are bodies that can handle it, and others that just can't take it.

As for the doctors, when your body has something wrong with it, its sends a jolt to your brain that creates the feeling of pain so you don't **** it up. That is simple science, ask any doctor that. So when something hurts, your body is telling you to REST it so it can fix it. Not play a full game of basketball with the best athletes in the world every other day.

    Dear T-Mac,

I left my cell, my pager, and my home phone at the bottom
I sent two letters back in autumn, you must not-a got him
There probably was a problem at the post office or something
Sometimes I scribble addresses too sloppy when I jot him
but anyways; f@#k it, what's been up? Man how's your daughter?
My girlfriend's pregnant too, I'm bout to be a father
If I have a daughter, guess what I'ma call her?
    I'ma name her Bonnie
I read about your teammate Ronnie too I'm sorry
I play ball too and had teammates in a shooting slump dam
I know you probably hear this everyday, but I'm your biggest fan
I even got your high school **** and camp vids when you did that Slam
I got a room full of your posters and your pictures man
I like the games you played with the Raptors too, that **** was phat
Anyways, I hope you get this man, hit me back,
just to chat, truly yours, your biggest fan
    This is Rox Fan

    Dear T-Mac,
you still ain't called or wrote, I hope you have a chance
    I ain't mad - I just think it's F@#%D UP you don't answer fans
If you didn't wanna talk to me outside the game
you didn't have to, but you coulda signed an autograph for Matthew
That's my little brother man, he's only six years old
We waited in the blistering heat for you,
four hours and you just said, "No."
That's pretty ****ty man - you're like his ****ing idol
He wants to be just like you man, he likes you more than I do
I ain't that mad though, I just don't like being lied to
Remember when we met in Denver - you said if I'd write you
you would write back - see I'm just like you in a way
    I never knew my father neither;
he used to always cheat on my mom and beat her
I can relate to what you're saying in your songs
so when I have a ****ty day, I drift away and put 'em on
cause I don't really got **** else so that **** helps when I'm depressed
I even got a tattoo of your name across the chest
Sometimes I even cut myself to see how much it bleeds
It's like adrenaline, the pain is such a sudden rush for me
See everything you say is real, and I respect you cause you tell it
My girlfriend's jealous cause I talk about you 24/7
But she don't know you like I know you T-Mac, no one does
She don't know what it was like for people like us growin up
You gotta call me man, I'll be the biggest fan you'll ever lose
Sincerely yours, Rox Fan -- P.S.
    We should be together too

    Dear Mister-I'm-Too-Good-To-Call-Or-Write-My-Fans,
this'll be the last package I ever send your ass
It's been six months and still no word - I don't deserve it?
    I know you got my last two letters;
I wrote the addresses on 'em perfect
So this is my cassette I'm sending you, I hope you hear it
I'm in the car right now, I'm doing 90 on the freeway
Hey T-Mac, I drank a fifth of vodka, you dare me to drive?
You know the song by Phil Collins, "In the Air of the Night"
about that guy who coulda saved that other guy from drowning
but didn't, then Phil saw it all, then at a show he found him?
That's kinda how this is, you coulda rescued me from drowning
    Now it's too late - I'm on a 1000 downers now, I'm drowsy
and all I wanted was a lousy letter or a call
I hope you know I ripped ALL of your pictures off the wall
I love you T-Mac, we coulda been together, think about it
You ruined it now, I hope you can't sleep and you dream about it
And when you dream I hope you can't sleep and you SCREAM about it
I hope your conscience EATS AT YOU and you can't BREATHE without me
    See T-Mac;
Shut up b****! I'm trying to talk!
Hey T-Mac, that's my girlfriend screamin in the trunk
but I didn't slit her throat, I just tied her up, see I ain't like you
cause if she suffocates she'll suffer more, and then she'll die too
Well, gotta go, I'm almost at the bridge now
Oh ****, I forgot, how am I supposed to send this **** out?

    Dear Rox Fan,

I meant to write you sooner but I just been busy
I have an injury, and my knee is really bothering me
I just need to take some time off to get my strength back
and those Rockets Doctors well you know they're really whack
Play through my injuries yeah that's what I've been told
But those doctors couldn't properly diagnose a head cold
So, I'm looking for other opinions see
Don't get f@#kn pissed at me
Thanks for naming your daughter Tracy
I'm really flattered you would call your daughter that
and here's an autograph for your brother,
I wrote it on the Starter cap
I'm sorry I didn't see you at the game, I musta missed you
Don't think I did that **** intentionally just to diss you
But what's this **** you said about you like to cut your wrists too?
I say that **** just clowning dog,
c'mon - how ****ed up is you?
You got some issues Rox Fan, I think you need some counseling
to help your ass from bouncing off the walls when you get down some
And what's this **** about us meant to be together?
That type of ****'ll make me not want us to meet each other
I really think you and your girlfriend need each other
or maybe you just need to treat her better
I hope you get to read this letter, I just hope it reaches you in time
before you hurt yourself, I think that you'll be doin just fine
if you relax a little, I'm glad I inspire you but Rox Fan
why are you so mad? Try to understand, that I do want you as a fan
I just don't want you to do some crazy ****
I seen this one **** on the news a couple weeks ago that made me sick
Some dude was drunk and drove his car over a bridge
and had his girlfriend in the trunk, and she was pregnant with his kid
and in the car they found a tape, but they didn't say who it was to
Come to think about, his name was.. it was you
    Damn!

YEAH. Let the man heal for chrissake. This is a smart move. I just wish we did it sooner.

You're totally correct, I remember the heart palpitation thing, and I realize he wasn't a saint, most players aren't, but for the majority of his career he did give it his all. I realize a few times in his Rockets career he wanted to be traded when he was unhappy, but you can't deny that he had "the heart of a champion" (yes I know that's lame having to bring back the old Rudy quote), but when the Rockets needed him, he was there to lift them up and carry them.

No....he has to strengthen the knee.....he could rehab like mad for 3 weeks....and it might be better, it might not.

However, he has to work it hard to get the strength back and to get the pain out.....which he can do through playing and rehab or just hard rehab.

Not rest.....rest is not going to help much.

btw the doctor told him it would take up to 6-8 months and this is like the 7month, one month, couldn't guys just wait 3 weeks. "Houston guard Tracy McGrady will miss three weeks to rehabilitate his sore left knee" I would rather have him rest and get to 110%, than letting him messy up his knee, even and might cost a chance for hi mto miss the whole season and even the post season.

I'm not sure if anyone caught 790 today around 2:40, but a doctor called in talking about Tracy's injury, and like I said earlier, I'm not a doctor nor Tracy's knee, it was pretty interesting. I can't recall everything, but basically they thought was that Tracy could have arthritis in his knee, and while it's degenerative, playing through it would be the best thing because like you were saying, the knee, and his leg needs strength. Sitting out might make his knee feel better for a game or two after he comes back, but after a few games it'll be back to what it is now, a weak knee. While all it might need is rest, it was pretty interesting.

Tracy was mental injury, this will never recover only when he can overcome himself. I also want him to get the strength back and to get the pain out. Indeed, I like Tracy, but I cant bear his irresponsiblity, as a leader of our team he need to do more, yeah, the shedule in Dec is much easlier than Nov, this seems a good chance, we can fixing our lineup, Tracy and BB and Battier all injured.

The thing about playing through it is that he'll compensate for the pain... things get out of balance... more and different stress is placed elsewhere, like on his back.

I have no problem with him sitting out for awhile and think he should be celebrated for lasting until Shane was able to go. All that matters is that the team plays top level ball after the All-Star break and stays injury free for the playoffs.

    Big picture people.

Now that TMac will get his chance to rehab the knee for 3 weeks, he will be watch closely by all the fans to see how he uses the time to get close to 100% healthy. I hope he does come back at least 90% better than what I saw live against he Mavs. I also hope Morey will sign a big to spell Yao some minutes. I don't want to see Yao play too minutes because of TMac's time off.
