I've run across some of the folks you describe too, and in those cities and elsewhere, though less often than you. Are they refusing to use cell phones and cars or something, like the Amish?

But anyway, I can find you a slew of completely backwards seeming Christians too -- hell, from my own slate of relatives. LOL.

I'm just not sure if "poor, uneducated, low-opportunity group X" is ever somehow more backward than "poor, uneducated, low-opportunity group Y" based on which entities or holy books they happen to follow. But again, maybe.

(If anything Atlas Shrugged fandom seems to align with relatively low-IQ, when it comes to books, but I intentionally digress again. Haha.)

Severe misunderstanding the root essence of anti-semitism. It's based on the concept that Jews can't be German, British, American etc. They can only be "Jew". Evangelicals don't want Jews to live in their backyard. They want them to go away. They are Christ killers to them essentially.
