We should have been running the ball.

Sage has culpability here. But don't forget about Kubiak.

I just realized something though now that SOME time has passed. A sort of silver lining. Now it's crap like this x 6 that cost us the playoffs, but I have to admit watching that now reminded me of how I felt watching the Oilers before we started knocking on the door....kind of endearing....and funny as Hell.

Whoa, one thing here -- I just noticed the "fixed it" you did:

"that was a career backup who never was given a fair shot at two starting jobs because the guy in front of him was paid more"

When I said "lost two starting jobs," I was referring to Miami and Washington. (Do I remember that correctly?)

Sage holds onto that ball and he's a Houston Sports Legend.

What about Arizona's third string QB -- didn't he look good against Houston in the pre-season?

There's no point in arguing over the backup QB. It's IRRELEVANT unless the backup QB is going to lead us to a Super Bowl.

This argument is stupid. A backup quarterback like Sage gives the Texans a shot at winning a couple games a staying in playoff contention if Matt goes down for a couple weeks. They will not win a single game if Dan O has to start

I know right? This is dumb. As if that EVER happens.

    Oh wait.

Hard to believe that a backup QB led a team to a superbowl win after replacing an injured starter 3 years in a row from 1999-2001

not even close. brady was a bonafide starter and was a backup for about 5 mins in New England. Warner same deal, starter for many years. Dilfer doesn't count, he sucked and shouldn't have been a backup or a starter. I have spoken.

    and you forgot one more:
Ben Roethlisberger, he was the QB no.3 in his rookie season behind Tommy Maddox and Charlie Batch, Batch was injured during the preseason, then Maddox was the starter then he got injured, and Big Ben got 13-0 in the regular season, and losing in the AFC championship that year, then the next season won the superbowl (with a little help from the refs)

Poor examples though. Most of these guys had the talent to lead their teams to super bowls. Rosenfels does not. Orvoloytzlyzkylzy does not either.

The point is . . . if they had not had a chance. . .who would know they had talent? You would be saying the same thing about them . . . if they did not get the opportunity.

Well how can you say that when he (sage) has never had that chance? Kurt warner wasn't even drafted. Tom brady was a 6th round pick even though he played at Michigan. Obviously a lot of people thought they really had no talent.

Sometimes you just need someone to give you a chance. What if sage was named starter maybe he gets through his stupid mistakes.

Nobody thought Warner or Brady could either. Even going into the playoffs nobody gave the Patriots a shot.

He can't be that stupid. Everyone knows that if Shaub goes down and Dan comes in this team is doomed. Dan O has the size and arm but he makes stupid mistakes.

I keep hearing that Dan has an arm, but I have yet to see it. He seems to lob every ball around the field like it is a struggle to make the simplest of passes.
