It's almost as if the media gaslight themselves despite Trump winning the first time. The demographic shifts, the inaccurate polling. It's not just poor whites swimming frantically to stay afloat.

The libertarian ideal is to pay no attention to the identity of the individual beyond their merit in whatever measure is being applied. Are you a criminal? Only if you have committed a crime. Are you an electrician? Only if you properly know how to wire a house. Should you be admitted to our university? Only if your meet these objective standards. I don't care what color you are. I don't care what gender you are. Merit is all that matters. Many Trump supporters (unfortunately, I wish they had correctly followed my example and voted for Chase Oliver) feel the same way. It is the Democrats that believe in identity over merit. That any inequality of outcome is based on discrimination. I say let the chips fall where they may and keep the government out of it.

 

It should be, but the Libertarian candidate got about 1% of the vote. People don't care about logic and reason and what is ideologically sound, they care about benefitting themselves and punishing the people that disagree with them.
