I know this article is a quite odd... and from bleacherreport website here is the link Sorry, (if I broken an CF rules about using the bleacherreport website.)
If you really want to lure Dwight Howard here you have to appeal to his desire to be in movies so I would recommend you tell him about all of the great movies that have been made in Houston like. . . Sidekicks! He won't be able to resist as its only the finest piece of cinema ever made! Also, tell him Chuck Norris will roundhouse kick him to the groin if he doesn't!
The only thing Dwight wants from Houston is lessons from DREAM. Why would he want to play for the Rockets? Sincere question
I tweeted Dwight telling him how much he would like it here in Houston and he followed me! This can only mean one thing... Spoiler
his best friend is here, his new mentor the dream is here...what more can you ask for? Strip clubs..we got that. Die hard fans that will worship you and follow you home..we got that. winning..just join and we got that. ***
Dwight would kill to be here over Orlando. I think he inks an extension if Morey can get him and not trade Lowry, although that'd be tough.
If the Rockets can actually make the playoffs and turn some heads in the first round, that would strengthen the case being made here. Maybe that's what the Rockets plan is. Still, Dwight is most probably going to look at the talent on our roster, and he's going to look at the talent around him in Orlando, and draw the conclusion that Houston isn't any better. Unless you're a glamorous city or have high-profile players on your team, its really difficult to attract stars. If Lowry can make the all-star team and Martin can get on a roll, that would certainly help.
Hurry somebody contact Shiner and have them name a beer after him! DH12 Stout. Dwight Light. Zeigenhoward.
Honestly though, if I was Dwight I would get my manager to call the Clippers' GM and propose Dwight + Ryan Anderson for Blake + Deandre + filler Dwight/Anderson/Butler/Billups/Paul = game over Orlando would never get any deal better than this one.
Honestly, this place would be a fantastic fit for Dwight, just taking it from his perspective. Not many teams have as much flexibility as us since we have managed contracts well. The big reason why Orlando is stuck the way it is, is because of not managing contracts well. And yes guys, Lowry is a very good reason for him to come here! Add to that list good young players like Patterson and Parsons stepping up, he'd have good future prospects rather than the finite futures under other players (CP3, Garnett, Nowitzki and especially Kobe are not going to get any better/younger!). Kevin Martin ($11,500,000) + Luis Scola ($8,600,000) + Picks and/or filler FOR Dwight Howard ($18,000,000) + filler/unwanted contracts It's probably not the best offer Orlando can get, but it's not outside the realm of possibility that they don't look at this offer (if presented). Orlando has said that they want veteran talent in a trade for Howard, keep that in mind.
If Otis decides to risk keeping Dwight until end of season (which I think he'd be crazy to) then the point I'm trying to make is that the Rox can provide the perfect environment to get him as a free agent whilst retaining pretty much the rest of the team intact. He would be the last and most important piece to the puzzle, rather than getting two-three cornerstones and having to find pebbles on the side.
