I am going to explain it succintly so that folks seem to understand what the heck I am talking about. 1. Double team or trap with a big on the PnR. Immediatly force him to pass the ball. or 2. Deny the ball defense, stay between the passer and the ball, this is akin to fronting that players do to Yao Ming, it does leave you suceptible to the backdoor cut, but if you have a big or two on the baseline it is not all that worrisome. or 3. Zone up in a 3-2....where you put longer players covering areas on the court in the hot players sweet spots. This is a very risky D, and should only be used to disrupt teams or players in spurts. Now, I am not advocating changing the stragegy for the entire game, I am saying...after nearly 3 quarters of being torched, it would be NICE to mix it up some to get him off his rythmn. That is it.....MIX UP THE DEFENSE. I hope that explains things well enough. DD
Obviously at some point you should try something different, there are a lot of options. BTW, aren't those decisions responsability of Turner? We'll see the next time.
Well he did say he made a mistake not playing Hill the past 2 games. What does he do to correct that mistake? Plays him for 4 minutes!! What nerve Tricky Ricky!! What nerve indeed!
