We wouldn't be turning on each other fighting, bickering if they only had drafted VY. He would have united the fans, not let them fall into a sea of anarchy as Carr has
I agree that a lot of this stuff is over the top. However, how is it so hard to comprehend that FAN A who roots for the Texans every single game is a truer Texans FAN than FAN B who roots for them sometimes, but roots against them sometimes as well? No one is talking about how much money one spends rooting for a team. I'm talking about the emotional aspect of it. Absofreakinglutely I can be a truer fan of a team than someone else. I'm not calling you Osama bin Laden ( ) and neither is anyone else. It's a pretty simple idea to wrap your head around, don't take it so personally.
Don't say I was taking it personally; I'm typically lined up across from the whiners with both barrells blazing. Where I draw the line is this "true fan" bullcrap. Before you roll your Internet smiley eyes again, please find where I was personally defensive. Yes, it is. And I am pointing it out, even though I agree in principle with Meowgi's position. How hard is it to comprehend that it has nothing to do with "truth" and it's just two different entertainment choices? But you're just arbitrarily limiting it to one type of investment. How are emotions more valid than time or money? How are they less valid? Absofreakinglutely you think you're better than somebody else based on your emotional involvement. I think it's petty and high-and-mighty, myself.
The funniest thing about his "your money is nothing" post is how little money I actually have and how he didn't pick up that it was an example. I've *never* been to an NFL game in any capacity. Can't afford it.
Err, that should read, "...you think you can be better..." Makes a difference in the intended meaning, sorry about that.
Please show me where I have ever said that I am better than someone because I feel that fans can be truer fans of a team than other fans. Put it this way, I would say that MadMax is a truer fan of the movie Signs because he lists that has one of his favorite movies of all-time while I simply found it to be enjoyable, but forgettable. I doubt he thinks he's a better person than me because of that. Just like I don't think I'm a better person because I root for the Texans regardless of who they are playing or who they did or did not pick instead of rooting for them most of the time, but rooting against them occasionally as well. Seriously, it's not that hard. Quit making it out to be this huge deal. For the last time, saying one is a truer fan of a team than another person does not mean that I think the "truer" fan is better than the other. The fact that you would even equate that means you're putting way more emphasis on the word "true" than I am. Would the word bigger make you feel better? You're getting your panties in a wad because of semantics, basically.
I know I'm better than any Titan fan. It is no contest. I also know I am better than fans that constantly b**** about the home team and cry for years when their mostest favorite player in the whole world isn't picked by them.
