That isn't how you calculate the tax/salary differences. IIRC, it is based upon where you play the actual game.

In the end, LAC should still come out ahead, but not by much.

I don't understand the comment about real estate cost. Real estate in Los Angeles is a better investment than in Dallas. It's not like NBA players can't afford the downpayment to live in Los Angeles or something and most of them already live in LA in the offseason. Including LaMarcus Aldridge who lives in Newport Beach just down the street from Kobe. He can literally ride with Kobe in his helicopter to the games at Staples Center.

A major development breaking in the Mavs' pursuit of DeAndre Jordan (not counting his Chandler Parsons pool party): Jordan is interested in a series of short-term deals. Therefore, Dallas may have just shifted into the driver's seat, with the ability to pay him $100 million over four years. or, to be precise, $96,251,494.

See my signature. DeAndre wants a 1+1 deal now so he can opt out and up his salary next season. Then next season he probably wants a 2+1 deal so he can opt out after the new CBA is in effect and he's also a 10-year vet.

    It's about the money fellas.

Deandre won't make the Mavs better than us, but it will hurt the Clippers. If he doesn't go out East to Milwaukee, I suppose this works.

One thing Deandre going to the Mavs would do is make all of the Rockets and Mavs games completely unwatchable with all the Hack a D's. Along with Harden's 15 flop free throws per game, they might set and continuously break the all time free throws per game record. It is funny that both Dwight and Deandre are max contract players yet neither has one offensive move and both are intentionally fouled up to 20 times a game because they can't make 1 out of 2 free throws on average.

So are you saying he's going to shoot for 20 flop free throws per game next season?

the mistake is on the dallas end, because there's no tax in texads, the states that do take a cut of the games you're there, but for california, they will let you deduct other states, but they will tax you for any game you play anywhere so you're paying 13% even if its 6 somewhere and the other 7 to them (the law was basically written with professional athletes in mind)

I find it funny that you call it flopping. Guess you spend most of your time watching Lakers games any ways.

Mavs actually had two meetings with Jordan; Parsons and Jordan at dinner and then the official team meeting for breakfast
