Blocks doesn't always equate to great defense. Dwight alters more shots and has a lower opponent FG% around the paint.
You shouldn't consider giving either of them the ball in the post unless they backs their man all the way under the rim either. It's akin to having a 20% or 15% player shoot the 3, yes one is better, but neither should be doing it, and if either is, they're hurting their team.

Dwight Howard can at least make a hook shot, with both hands on both blocks. Deandre Jordan can ONLY dunk. Add to that Howard is a better rim protector in general, while I'd say Jordan is a better help defender. I like Jordan, hometown guy and all, but while similar Howard is the better player. http://www.landofbasketball.com/player_comparison/h/dwight_howard_vs_deandre_jordan.htm
Why all the hate for Dwight? Just a month ago Clutchfans voted Dwight most impactful. Now Dwight is basically the same or worse than DeAndre?
I do not know why people are hating on Dwight. He gave his all for this team from day one. He loves being a Houston Rocket and the city of Houston. A healthy Dwight is better than DeAndre Jordan.
You know.. I didn't know that. I am no longer hungry for lunch as that nugget of info shat all over my appetite
weren't we supposedly after his brother on draft night. also their could of been a real possibility we traded leonard out in order to have room to sign dwight. we would have most likely just sent Kawhi down to the vipers all year. he may not be the finished product if we drafted him and then traded him to a non spurs team/ could just be MKG 2.0 because he needs the system to succeed.
I would say Deandre officially passed up Dwight last year after leading the league in boards for the second consecutive season. He's younger and more athletic than Dwight so it was inevitable. In fact, Deandre may be the most athletic player in the NBA right now with Lebron on the wrong side of 30. Dwight is slightly better on the post, but that's like saying Albert Pujols is slightly faster than Adrian Gonzalez. Both should not get the ball in the post due to lack of post moves and the obvious automatic foul due to their ineptitude at the free throw line. Both their post moves are additionally worse because both are scared of getting fouled and often rush their shots. Rivers specifically does not run any plays to Deandre so he can focus on offensive boards/tips and broken play dunks. That's why he's led the league in FG% the last two years including almost breaking Wilt Chamberlains FG% record. In addition to the fact that Deandre has become a better rebounder and shotblocker than Dwight, there is also an X factor that Deandre never misses games. With Blake and CP3 taking turns being hurt, Deandre has managed to stay healthy. Call it luck, but I'm sure his physical health and fitness has something to do with it. Deandre's reliability has been a very unappreciated side of his total package. That said, I think the Clippers are in a tough spot with Deandre. I don't know if either Deandre or Dwight are worth a max contract when you see the Warriors win a championship after sitting their only center for the majority of the finals. The game has evolved into a small ball style and the Clippers would be strapped if they are spending a max contract on a player that doesn't fit that mold. That said, they are already up against the hard cap anyway so they may as well keep him and pay the additional tax (Just loose change to Ballmer anyway). Plus, the cap will go up a lot in 2017 so Deandre's deal may not look so bad after all. When the Clippers signed him to the $10M per year deal three years ago, it looked like the worst contract in the NBA, but last year, it looked like a steal.

Well, a healthy Kobe is better than James Harden, but unfortunately, it's not 2010 anymore. Back surgery followed by knee problems does not bode well for any big man. I will agree that Dwight circa 2010 was better than Deandre is today.
I dont know how the bucks even got a meeting with dj. We are usually spurned and denied straight up.lol he will stay in lac is my guess.
