Also, missing that Ginobili guy was an enormous screwup.

Don't even get me started on when we passed up Ben Wallace for Randy Livingston.

    Hindsight complaining is fun!!

    He said Blair or Hasheem.

Obviously I would take Blair, but Blair's offensive game is clearly more polished then Dorseys.

Blair vs Hasheem is a different story compared to Dorsey vs Deandre Jordan.

Honestly, this may be the most ignorant statement I've ever seen from you, REEKO. You're MUCH smarter than that.

Pray tell, why didn't the Rockets and Kings just make a draft-day trade, then?

Why did the Rockets go ahead and actually sign Donte Greene, have him risk injury in the summer league and then have to put the Artest trade on hold for two weeks to wait for the mandatory 30-day period after Greene signed his contract to expire?

The Rockets drafted a player they liked for THIS team. Then, a near All-Star caliber player came on the market, but at the cost of their newest first round pick. Realizing the value in that trade, Morey pulled the trigger.

Anyone who believes that the Rockets did not draft Donte Greene with a view towards having him on the 2008-09 Rockets roster is delirious.

What difference does it make? If we had drafted DeAndre Jordan, Adelman would have benched him and then Morey would have traded him. It's not like he would have produced anything more than Dorsey had.

Let's just move on; every single time I see Rudy Gay do his thing I get a headache.. Yeah I understand what the rockets needed/wanted at the time trading for Shane Battier but Rudy is becoming a great player, getting better with time.

Well, we don't have either now, so what does it matter?

Besides, in the grand scheme of things, I'll take 16-19 over 11-24 (Clips W/L).

AND most importantly, you don't call it major if it's not first rounder. :p

I believe I have heard Morey state on more than one occasion there is only a 5% or 10% chance (I don't remember the exact number) that a second round draft pick ends up with an NBA career as a rotation player. So by definition, I don't think passing on any player in the second round can be deemed a "major mistake."

Maybe he truly missed on Batum. But does not matter because the pick was traded.

Guys like Rudy Gay and Jefferson would not have been good fits for us at those points of time.....Gay would have been a defensive liabily who would have been frustrated with the offense going thru Yao and T-Mac...He probably would have left during free agency anyhow by now.....And we sucked in the open court back then to keep Jefferson...He would have been as bad as Ariza without the defense....

Except that the Rockets never actually selected either of those players.

It was made very clear about this re: Rudy Gay; however, I only recently learned that the Eddie Griffin trade in 2001 was made when the Rockets were on the clock at #13.

The #8 pick in 2006 would have otherwise been Thabo Sefalosha (went #13).

The #13 pick in 2001 would have otherwise been Troy Murphy (went #14).

Major because we desperately need a center right now who can block shots.

    It's basically a waste of a pick.

I thought R. Jefferson was rockets 1st round 13th pick in 2001 .. I thought he was traded right after the rockets selected him...
