How would you grade his rookie season and what do you expect going forward?

50+ receptions 800+ yards....that's a pretty amazing rookie season for a #2 WR. I fully expect him to be over 1000 yards next year.

Box score watchers just look at the numbers for Hopkins... But his numbers are indicative of being on the field with Dre who takes the attention of the defense away from Hopkins. Of Hopkins 802 receiving yards only 188 of those yards came from YAC which is pathetic.

If the Texans are depending on Hopkins to take over for Dre _ they're in trouble.

and Calvin Johnson had 172 YAC his rookie year. obviously you have highlighted a flawless metric to indicate future success...

you could look at that single metric and consider it a failure, or you could look at the fact that the qb play was so atrocious, it can only get better.....

Calvin didn't have a #1 receiver on the field like Dre so he had to deal with double coverages and or always facing the best corner on the field _ Hopkins didn't have to deal with that because he was on the field with Dre... You're just looking at box score stats.

So everything is the quarterbacks fault... Lol.. Hopkins wasn't even the best receiver on his own college team or in the draft. He was just the most polished. The Texans reached on Hopkins in the 1st and pulled out an upgraded version of Kevin Walter.

Andre is going anywhere anytime soon, so no need to crap on Hopkins cause he is not the next AJ. It'll be a long time before anyone fills those shoes. Troll harder.

He's a solid #2 and a good possession type of WR but I do worry about his speed and separation ability to become an all pro type . But still, for a rookie WR he certainly showed he is a more than adequate starting caliber WR for years to come. It will be fun to see him get better next year and hopefully have a more consistent offense to get him more touches.

Cornerbacks stick to him like doodoo on a hotel wall but his ability to flash his prowess for the world to see took guts.

who would you like to use as a basis of comparison?

Reggie Wayne posted yardage totals of 345, 716 & 838 over his first three years.
That is while playing opposite Marvin Harrison and having Manning behind center over that same time span.

He's just looking to be a contrarian, by any objective standard, Hopkins had a very good rookie year.

    Now who didn't watch football?

I wouldn't call his rookie season a disaster, but he made many mistakes... he too often ran poor routes and at times ran the wrong route.

Do you realize how many offensive weapons Manning already had before Indy got Reggie...??? So that's a bad comparison...

Just compare Hopkins to other receivers in his draft like Allen and Patterson and that makes if much easier and Hopkins should have never been drafted before Patterson.

Name anyone who didn't make "many mistakes" their rookie year. What were you expecting from him? Were you expecting him to be Randy Moss and have 69 receptions, 1,313 yards, and 17 TDs in his rookie season?

50+ receptions for 800+ yards is considered good for any rookie WR no matter where he's drafted.

    Incomplete.

Too many bad coaches/QB's to really get a feel.

Outstanding. Even though backups and depth isn't at where we used to be, he is a solid #2. Just a bit better than Kevin Walter, but could improve a lot more. I look forward to him being a rare league leader and Pro-Bowler behind Andre Johnson.
LOLers. NICE. Made me LOL for real, sir. Thank you.

Now this just my opinion but based on the PooPoo incident and the Weinergram incident I think, Houston we got ourselves a weirdo.
