I'm a little nervous about what kind of contract they're willing to give Hopkins. If he's going to get a Calvin Johnson style contract, the Texans will be pretty screwed. You'll notice that NE never pays much for any WR, because it's not worth it. I'd say if there is a QB worth taking at #1, this is a no-brainer, and there's a good chance that it would be a smart move in any scenario.

    Not.
That would send our defense straight back to merely okay.
However, you could send Bernardrick McKinney to the #3 San Diego Chargers with our first. They need a linebacker badly.
Tennessee won't be taking a QB, but Cleveland will and will want the farm.
So, you go for #3 overall.
McKinney showed enough to suggest he will be a solid player for years to come and looks like a first round talent so may pique Chargers interest.
Draft position #3 is about half the value of the #1 so it may be feasible.
You only do this if the QB you want is still there of course.

You can't take 1 team out of context and apply their philosophy to everything. Who knows--if they didn't have Brady and instead were making guys like Cassel and Garropolo look solid, maybe they'd have paid through the nose for a WR?

They also paid Amendola of all people 5 yrs / $31M. No, it's not "big WR money"--but it shows that they place value on WRs (and make mistakes).

I don't even know where to begin with this.

There is all kinds of wrong with this thread. Then again, it doesn't surprise me that a low IQ individual started this thread. You can just tell from his threads started in the Hangouts board alone how little he thinks before he posts.

    No.

#1 overall picks destroy cap space. Plus Nuk is a pro bowler, no guarantee the pick will be

No they don't, they're arguably the best deal a team can have as far as contracts and production go.

Umm... No. Clowney was a first pick overall... Tell me, who is the more productive player?

Trading a 23 year old stud receiver for an unproven commodity is absolutely absurd.

Picking the best available regardless of position is the most idiotic move the Texans can do right now when there is an absurd glaring hole IN THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION IN FOOTBALL.
