Dude, Mobley is freakin' retired. He's not a player, he's a contract.

HELL TO THE NO! This shouldn't even be remotely considered! We think is lazy and has a poor work ethic, Curry is miles worse.

Exactly, a much more attractive contract than McGrady.

this is a great opportunity to move tmac for 2 useful pieces.

    1. mobley can be traded as an expiring contract in a predatory type of move. $9M is a lot easier to trade than $23M.

    2. curry can be a one year rental, then trade his $10M expiring next summer.

Ugh. Can't agree, smoothie. I'd hang on to McGrady before I'd do this deal. If there isn't anything better (which I can't believe), let his contract expire.

Exactly, which is what worzel is saying.

I don't think Morey is willing to make this trade, however. Hence, his serious interest in signing Gortat (for half of what Curry makes) in free agency instead.

I do think that a Hughes/Mobley package (hopefully with a future pick or two included) may get a deal done for T-Mac, given Yao's injury situation. Two smaller expiring contracts that will be easier to unload next season than T-Mac's one monstrous contract. Or perhaps a three-way deal to net the team some other assets, with the Knicks taking T-Mac.

I'd rather have Tracy playing video games on the bench than having Curry on this team. No one on the knicks would make us better in my opinion so I really don't see the point in dealing him to them so they can have a run at picking up Lebron and Bosh next season.

We could use Lee, Wilson Chandler, Dan Gaikslfuwsoir are a couple players that we could use.

letting his contract expire is a really solid move. however, i really don't see us being a major player in 2010 with yao on the books. if taking on curry lands us a future first, or the ability to add a young prospect or two for chandler, then i gladly do the deal.

i don't take curry off their hands for nothing.

curry is the thorn in the knicks side. without him on the books next summer, they could resign lee and still have enough for 2 max contracts. no reason to help them out just to be nice. basically, i can deal with curry for a year until we can trade him as an expiring, only if it nets us a building block for the future.

This is a horrible trade for Houston and there is zero chance of us doing it. Curry is the last guy Morey would make a Rocket. Yes he can be an offensive force, but his head is not screwed on straight. To make worse he doesn't jump when he rebounds, and is rarely in shape. If T-Mac was a cancer then Curry is terminal cancer. I'm talking days to live here. The Knicks have absolutely no one that we would possibly be interested in. Lee would fit the bill as far as being a fighter, but he's as good as gone. If Morey can't move Tracy over the summer for a considerable offer, and no I am not talking about fetching a superstar, then he will remain a Rocket until the trade deadline. His value will only go up as the year goes on. Heck, he may even manage a comeback. Either way it's win win. As for NY, thanks but no thanks!

You make a good point, but I'd still like to find a better deal, or else wait until the trade dealine to deal Tracy. We'll see more financial desperation from teams that aren't having their season turn out like they expected.

    Knicks own OKC's 2010 1st round pick.

If the Rockets can get their hands on that. Would they have the pieces to trade for Bosh?

    McGrady + Lowry FOR Curry + Jeffries + Duhon + OKC's 2010 1st round draft pick
*Knicks/D'Antonio are unhappy with Duhon and their PG situation.
*Knicks an extra $18.160663M of cap space for 2010 (Curry + Jeffries)

    Brooks + Landry + Battier + Dorsey + White (non-guaranteed) + OKC's draft pick FOR Bosh

    Duhon, (vacant), (vacant)
    Artest, Taylor, Newley
    Jeffries, Barry, Budinger
    Bosh, Scola/Gortat, Leunen
    Gortat/Scola, (vacant), Yao

It leaves PG at a mess, but I think they can get by with signing Pablo Prigioni, and adding third via SL or trading the rights to Eliyahu for Patrick Mills from Portland.

    Duhon, Prigioni, (Mills/Barrera/SL)
    Artest, Taylor, Newley
    Jeffries, Barry, Budinger
    Bosh, (Scola/Gortat), Leunen
    (Gortat/Scola), (vacant), Yao

Why is the national media always trying to get other NBA teams to bail the Knicks out?

    I forgot about Curry.

    Duhon, Prigioni, (Mills/Barrera/SL)
    Artest, Taylor, Newley
    Jeffries, Barry, Budinger
    Bosh, (Scola/Gortat), Leunen
    (Gortat/Scola), Curry, Yao

Swing Curry + Duhon FOR B. Diddy + Collins

    Davis, Prigioni, (Mills/Barrera/SL), Collins
    Artest, Taylor, Newley
    Jeffries, Barry, Budinger
    Bosh, (Scola/Gortat), Leunen
    (Gortat/Scola), Yao
