Yao is a hard worker who developed 70 percent of his game in China. And despite being weak in the upper body, Yao went into battle with Shaq and came out unscathed without JVG. Give credit to where credit is due, if Yao is Stro JVG can do nothing about it. And hiring Ewing to tutor Yao in my book is a wrong move that deters Yao's growth, cutting out Yao's face up game is another. Bill Walton said Yao had to figure it out by himself and indeed he did. Finally, I will use caution in giving JVG full accolades for Yao's added strength before Anthony Falson nods his head.

Almost. The arguments are one-sided because people that hate JVG dominate the discussion with their rantings and ravings. A very large number of us are in the middle but we can't be heard because of the shouting. There is only a small number who "love" JVG. Most of us are in the middle and it's unfortunate the JVG-bashers are so loud that many (not all) of them ruin what could be intelligent discussions.

Yao's lack of creativity may be more closely related to the attitude we're trying to instill in him. When he first got here, he was overly concerned with getting his teammates touches - too selfless, that's when everybody wanted Yao to develop that inner fire. In developing that, he has to look for his shot, which is what we like, and get to the rim more often. So it has to be one or the other, either get to the rim, or look for your teammates. I think once he has fully developed and become as comfortable getting to the rim as he was looking for his teammates is when we'll see the creativity again.

Now he's making sick behind-the-back dribbles for the jam instead of pretty scoop passes. I don't think his game has been diminished in any regard.

I think you can only use minimum to sign JLIII for two years but to sign JLIII for 3 years and has his bird right, just in case his performance 'exploded' in his second year, Rockets need to use part of the MLE but I think it would still be a minimum amount.

yao doesn't shoot that 15 foot jumper like he did in his rookie year. its like they told him he better not shoot that. never hurts to have more weapons at your disposal.
