Screw Obama. Time to get a new candidate so we don't have such a stark choice of the the lesser of two evils.

I agree. I now think Obama is weak and will not vote for him in 2012. I hope another democratic candidate will take him out in a primary challenge.

    He's lost my support.

You are so obtuse. Throw key words around 'free' and 'strong' and randomly latch them with america and you have a winner! Man, you are such a sheep and Mitt Romney is like Brian Lewis from the movie Head of State.

hmm i'm not sure how I feel about this. I dont think our tax system is fair but I don't think someone making 250k/year is considered rich either. Well not if you live in the bay area or So Cal. Anyways I was watching this segment on Fox last night about Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and Fox was actually praising Clinton for the fine job he did balancing the budget. Anyways I would vote for Clinton again if he was allowed to run :) He was definitely our best or most effective president between Bush and Obama. But I guess I'm glad Obama pushed this through.

ok so let me get this straight. all of you people are pissed at obama for what specific point? that he let the tax cuts continue for the super wealthy?

so what would have happened if he continued to fight the repubs (play hard ball  ) and it resulted in a stalemate and the tax cuts would have expired for everyone including the middle class? im pretty sure that Everyone would blame obama and the white house for that happening, no matter how much fault anyone else had in it expiring cuts.

if anyone should be pissed about something it should be that he didnt try to work on this in the previous 2 years.

or maybe im missing something (im sure that i am)

If you live in cali tough luck just move or you can live in the freemont. Plus you are only paying extra on the amount over 250k. Obama should have played hard ball and pushed this back the GOP and if they let fall for the middle class he should have started yelling about how the republicans are raising taxes.

From a purely economic viewpoint what Obama did was practically suicide. Do you realize that tax cuts for the rich+tax cuts for the middle class+even more tax exemptions equals your goverment hemorhagging money left and right? The goverment needs taxes to function, esp. now when its has several wars to fund and needs to do economic stimuli to slow down/and or reverse the recession.

From a political standpoint its just dumb. 2 years from now when the economy has cratered even further and unemployment is even worse than it is now look for Republicans to turn around and blame the Obama administration for blowing up the deficit with "wanton spending".

I cannot get over what how politically brain-dead and policy-r****ded this "compromise" by Obama was.

    What a fool.

I think if Obama had played hardball people would have blamed the Republicans since Democrats were ready to cut taxes for everyone in the nation except those making over 250K a year. But the GOP was going to block that tax cut.

What should have happened was the Dems be willing to compromise and cut taxes for everyone making under one million a year. The GOP would have then had to either agree with that, or be the defenders for millionaires.

Why do the democrats feel it's their God-given right to tax the rich? Give me a break. It's almost like the rich are the bad guys in the liberals' minds.

And how would you fix the deficit?

Is it your god given right to have no substance and point fingers?
