Stern announced that owners and players ratified a new collective bargaining agreement Thursday, the final step to ending the five-month lockout and paving the way for training camps and free agency to open Friday. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7332374/nba-labor-players-owners-vote-ratify-new-labor-agreement
This sucks, this deal would have made our team better at SG, PF and we would have had money to sign a really good C plus re-sign Chuck and sign a backup PG.
My prayers have been answered. And can you blame the league? This trade looks like an inside job, practically gift wrapping the WC Championship to the Lakers for the next 3+ years. Yeah, that kind of looks bad. And look at all the bad blood now, K-Mart, Luis, Gasol, not to mention Boston trying to unload Rondo. Lots of hard feelings coming out of this.
Breaking News: Chris Paul ain't going to the Lakers. I know i made a thread already but i found this on the yahoosports website "NBA commissioner David Stern blocked Chris Paul's trade to the Lakers after other team owners complained" which means were keeping scola and martin :grin::grin::grin::grin:
Thanks Aelliott, so I guess it did boil down to owners not wanting to put their own money into New Orleans before it was sold to someone else. DD
I never even knew that the owners had to approve of trades. I'd be vetoing left and right if I was an owner.
I've wasted an entire day thinking the trade was done, then off, then done, now dead. I've had enough for one day.
