    I certainly question the integrity of the league and invalidate any of its legitimacy. Stern is absolutely ridiculous and making things worse for possibly all three teams all because he wanted "young players" and picks. David Stern is worse than Bud Selig.

    They have to sign d-league players to make a roster. CP3 leaves next season for nothing. They have more people maning the concession stands than in the seats. So, basicly, Stern just contracted the Hornets.

    The risk/reward analysis dictates that you never bet the farm and the 401K on the roll of ping pong balls and the slim hope that you can find a superstar in the draft. Probability analysis says that you will be right one day, but the mean time to success has been demonstrated to be 3 - 5 years (or more) of irrelevance and basement dwelling.

    There are plenty of teams that have become great after sucking and collecting top picks. There are a few teams that have become great by gutting themselves and starting from scratch through free agency (this has only been a recent thing). There are not very many teams that have successfully gone from mediocre to great when stuck in at the bottom end of the lottery: not good enough to attract free agents, not bad enough to draft good players.

    The Rockets are stuck in purgatory right now. They have to either gut themselves or find a longterm star in trade. But continuing to be this 9th or 10th seed type position is hopeless.

    It's disconcerting that Odom, sixth man of the year on a great contract, could only net what is guaranteed to be a late first round pick. Anyone saying we should dump our guys for picks must surely be questioning their trade value right now.

    Here's what I don't understand. The Lakers got Gasol for next to nothing in that trade. IT was a massively lopsided deal favoring the Lakers.

    The Mavs get Odom for only a draft pick? That's insanely lopsided in favor of the Mavs.

    When will the Rockets get a deal which is massively lopsided in favor of them?

    They got Scottie Pippen for trash, though that was a sign & trade. They got Steve Francis for a bunch of role players.

    I'm sure this has been mentioned in here but I'm not reading. Its not about that, its about me being pissed.

    Cuban = biggest proponent against Paul trade
    Cuban = gains the most from nixed trade (Odom for nothing)
    Lakers = positioned for Howard

    I just can not figure out how the hell did Mark Cuban come out as the winner after all this mess.

    OK this is screwy... the player's union better step in on this MONDAY. I think there are some left over issues from the lockout and this is the result. Time to take legal action Chris Paul.

    Why didn't Cuban protest this trade?
