Having kanter would’ve helped. He’s a rebounding machine and can create his own shot efficiently. Defensively he’s about capela level.

None of those guys had to play the Warriors. Think about this, If Clint Capela (Who is a better defender and a lot more athletic and mobile than Kanter) can't even keep up against the Warriors....Gasol, who might still be good offensively, but might be even slower than Kanter at this point in his career. What makes you think those two would have helped the Rockets? They are even more unplayable.

Hard to believe kanter and gasol are basically unplayable at this level, i mean NOBODY could have seen that coming!

Kanter falls behind MEYERS LEONARD and Zach Collins in the rotation. CJ takes 4 of 4 shots from 3pt range and 5 trips to the line. Lillard takes 2 of 3 shots from 3pt range and 6 trips to the line.

Sounds like an eerily familiar strategy.

I swear Senator that we are the only two people who get the fact that “small ball” sucks. I was screaming along with you at the trade deadline that we needed a big man. We both suggested Kanter and got ripped. I also suggested DJordan and guess who....Miles Leonard. All were available and could have EASILY BEEN GOTTEN for a first and second round pick (cost for suckwad Shumpert). It is true that our idiot coach would not have had the insight to play them, but without Shumpert you never know.

Faried should have played more minutes don't give a F what anyone thinks. Portland bout to get swept. Gasol stepping out bricking threes all game anyway.

You better give a F what I think splotchbucket b/c I agree with you 100%. How do you not play a guy averaging a double double for you in the playoffs. We beat GS with him. But nooooooo we have to play Shumpert b/c of our idiot coach.

kanter is unplayable against the warriors. if you can't switch out onto guards, or make any rotations on time, the warriors will pick you apart. regular season success means nothing in the playoffs. it comes down to being able to make the right rotation, on time, and then being able to stick in front of all 5 players if needed.

kanter, gasol, and Faried have not been / are not able to do those things. Gasol at least knows where to go but is too slow at this point to get there on time and to stay in front of quicker guys. Kanter and faried are consistently out of position or blown by. nene is similar to Gasol in the sense that he makes the right rotation, sometimes late, but when he gets there he gets blown by anyway.

the secret to the success last year was the platoon of tucker, Ariza, and Moute. all could guard 5 positions, made the right rotations, anticipated and got there early, and stayed in front of their man once they're there. this year with just tucker we had to play shumpert and nene too much. forget guys like kanter and faried, give me a versatile defensive forward, and hitting 3's would be a plus, like JaMychal Green, DeMarre Carroll, either Morris twin, rudy gay, etc... those guys would make a difference against the warriors.

Why Morley get Ennis instead of Kawhi?

He grabbed 16 board in game 1, had a +7 in game 3. And still averages over 50% FG, something you need along a low efficiency player like Harden. No one said he's Shaq, but a difference maker and a unique option to a team that tried the same thing and failed for 5 straight years. Houston has a very different build to Portland and it would let him do alot of things Capela couldn't - you can't beat the best playing their game.

Yeah, and he would've also completely and single handedly killed out defense...try this, go give a look to game 7 last season, look at what happened when Ryan Anderson got into the game late, now after you watched those 2 minutes think about an even worse defender in his place.

    Yeah, can't play Kanter

You're a smart guy. The problem is Morey is more nerd than smart and spends too much time patting himself on the back for valiant losses. He lucked into Harden but doesn't have the basketball savvy to go to the next level. Jimmy Butler and Paul George are great, but when it's clear no one wants late 1st rounders for all stars, you can't be scared of trying new things. Same story for 5 years- the team is 7-16 against the Warriors and his formula's get worse!!
