It's officially time to turn attention to Texans....there is nothing more newsworthy with the Astros...it's a shame no deals could have been made, but this season is a lost cause anyways...let's see if Timmy Boy can build this team in the offseason.

    Rumors of Mets getting Linebrink.

Glad we didn't trade Ensberg straight up for him, but kind of bummed he got away.

Since he's raised payroll nearly every year (if not every year) since owning the team and since it's been consistently in the $70-80 million range, why in the world would you expect him not to spend any of that money to improve the ball club?

And please, for the love of God, will you haters quit acting like Drayton McLane holds daily ****ing press conferences to announce the team payroll. He doesn't, he's paying it, and I know that makes you all sick to your stomach that he is. Get over it and appreciate our owner for once.

Drayton McLane has had a history of making big acquisitions since he has been owner, during both the season and the off-season.

See: Randy Johnson, Moises Alou, Jeff Kent, Andy Pettitte, Roger Clemens, Carlos Beltran.

He also said last year that the minimum payroll required to run a contending team is $85MM. He has consistently said that his goal with the Astros is to win a World Series.

If premier free agents or trade targets are available during the off-season, the Astros will not be going into next season with a $60-65MM payroll.

For those of you cursing Tim Purpura, just be grateful that Dave Littlefield is nowhere near your team.

I said it before and I'll say it again...Much ado about nothing...

Brad Lidge is a detriment to this team...A non factor...

Well, the good news is that the Astros still have a black guy on their team...

I'm tired of him trying to play like he's some martyr and he's not making any money because of his payroll. That gets old.
