It's likely if Bush hadn't outsourced the job to the Afghan warlords at the start that the US military would have killed bin Laden when they were looking for him originally. It's also likely if Bush hadn't actually stated that he didn't care where bin Laden was that there would have been a higher priority in catching him. It's also likely if we hadn't invaded Iraq and diverted resources to that whole stupid ass affair that we would have caught bin Laden years ago. So yeah, if Bush hadn't been so incredibly incompetent and mismanaged the situation so dramatically, bin Laden would have been dead years ago. Thanks W, you're the man.
gore won the popular vote in 2000 by 500k votes. it was those elitist "smug academics" in the electoral college and the supreme court who put bush in office.
if this is true than shouldnt 9/11 have happened in amsterdam? you can smoke hash and have sex w/ prostitutes there...white ones, black ones, muslim ones, old ones, chicks dressed like nazi dominatrixes, ect. you can eat a bunch of mushrooms and jam in a drum circle w/ a bunch of spanish hippies for a few hours at the vondelpark then go trip out on a bunch of paintings at the van gogh museum. it really doesnt get much freer than that. damn, i need to go back to holland! they dont hate us for our freedoms or b/c they think we are immoral. if you want to go w/ the official story there were 3 main reasons osama gave for 9/11. 1) our support of israel in their suppression of palestine 2) sanctions against iraq, which led to the deaths of 1 million innocent people 3) presence of u.s. troops in saudi arabia and our alliance w/ the royal family (for the record, i am against all this stuff too - me and osama!) in short, they didnt hate us for our freedoms - it was our foreign policy that they had the problem with (if you want to go w/ the official story).
How the hell do you know? Did you know were OBL was? why didn't you tell us? If you knew how to catch OBL why didn't you let us know earlier?
How could he brought to the U.S. and tried while facing his victims. He could never get a fair trial in the u.s. since any jury would be completely biased against him. I just don't see how that is even possible. It's like trying Hitler in an Israeli court.
I know because all of those actions individually are serious hindrances to success and combined they're a complete cluster****. If you were President I would hope you would exercise more care and intelligence in planning to catch the most wanted man in US history. Rather than be a p***y and say you're not concerned with Bin Laden is it might be a good idea to reiterate that he is our highest priority so that everyone in your organization understands. Rather than being a moron that doesn't understand that Afghani warlords, essentially foreign mercenaries, have their own interests in mind when it comes to catching Bin Laden it might be a good idea not to have them in the mix when you have the most exemplary military in the world already at your disposal. Rather than diverting resources, troops, and money into Iraq for nothing you maybe could have put even more troops into the Tora Bora area where Bin Laden was thought to be and actually catch that b*stard before you go off fighting another war. And it's not really hindsight, it's just basic strategy and common sense.
Seriously? If someone killed your closest relative would you use a PI from craig's list over the FBI, publicly state you weren't concerned with where he was, and then divert a large percentage of your search assets to run a trivial errand for you while the killer was still on the loose? I would hope not because then you'd be a moron and your chances of catching the killer would be quite small.
whether I would or wouldn't do it has no relevance. You claim Bush hindered the chances of getting OBL. And you provide no proof, other then poor assumptions. Stop talking out your backside
Saw his interviews on Alex Jones show. He was basically going Hubie Brown on the entire situation starting from his days working inside the Carter administration to present day.
Good news report from DemocracyNow yesterday regarding Pakistan's probable involvement in harboring Bin Laden. EDIT: And Pakistan is lobbying like crazy to quell the issue and retain the billions in aid from Washington. Cutting funding to social programs while giving billions to Pakistan. Crazy.
from the article: "Meanwhile, the Pakistani government is claiming it warned U.S. intelligence two years ago about the compound where bin Laden was killed." I wonder what EIT like waterboarding did the bush admin use to extract that info from the Pakistani gov
I'm going to address this since my post about the details of the raid where OBL, his son and others were shot while unarmed kicked off this discussion. I don't begrudge people celebrating OBL's death. I did not go down to the celebrations and tell people they shouldn't be celebrating. I don't think the mission shouldn't have been undertaken or that OBL shouldn't have been killed even unarmed. I am personally uneasy with the glorification of death and the cold bloodedness of how this was carried out. The SEALs are consummate professionals who did an outstanding job and I don't question their judgment. As I said I look at it like shooting a rabid dog. You know it has to be done but it doesn't make it glorious. When I first heard about OBL being killed my thoughts went straight to the those people who died on 9/11. I wasn't in NYC when it happened but like most of the World watched it unfold. The extent of the tragedy though really hit me when I was in NYC about three weeks later. The only time I got to see Ground Zero was at about 2AM and it was drizzling. The sight of that giant smoking pile and the fine ash that was still drifting in the air brought home to me how truly devastating 9/11 was. OBL deserved to die to me this was more a function of Karma but I can't be happy thinking about what a waste of life for all those people who died on 9/11 and the thousands afterwords because of the evil of that man. I don't feel joy but sadness that all of this might have been avoided.
On ABC news they are reporting that a according to a poll conducted in Pakistan 66% of Pakistanis don't believe OBL is dead.
and a month ago, at least 70% of pakistanis probably believed OBL was not hiding within 100 miles of their capital
Osama's still dead, right? History books will remember it was President Obama who gave the order to kill him. History books will remember Bush as the president who got us into the Iraqi quagmire and led this nation to the brink of economic collapse.
