I agree with a lot of your comments. Although I'm not really for playing lesser players just because they are young. I think you should play your best players. If you don't want to play those players then you need to trade them. Now, I also don't believe we should be playing vets just because they are older, experienced and likely have bigger contracts. At this point we've seen that Patterson is one of our better bigs both offensively and defensively, there's no basketball related reason for him to not log major minutes every game.

As far as trades go, I think the Rockets tough situation is compounded by the thing that we all praise Morey for. He finds these gems. These guys that are too short, too skinny, too unathletic , or can't shoot. These guys turn out to be very productive but they aren't highly coveted because other GM's don't see the upside. When people see all these physical deficiencies they assume they're system players. I think the rockets' best bet to improving is trading the guys that are either seen as having upside or the guys who put up the best numbers.

upside players - Hill, Patterson, Williams, Budinger
stat stuffers - Martin, Scola, Brooks

Even looking at that, the rockets probably aren't ready to give up on Patterson and Williams before they've had a good look at them. And, Brooks has been injury riddled this season meaning his stats don't do his production justice. Budinger had a slow start so his numbers aren't all that appealing either and Scola is old. They're probably getting offers on those three, just really crappy ones. So, now you're really left with Hill and Martin as your main trading chips. Those two are the most likely to be moved in a trade that sees us receive a player of equal or better value to us.

    DD,

Give it up. Nobody cares what you think for the most part. Your like a broken record repeating the same crap over and over again.

Change this, change that, whatever. If the Rockets actually thought u were worth a damn, they would give you a call.

You ain't working for the Rockets, TNT, ABC or ESPN anytime soon to begin with and your a bigger nusiance than you are worth. Since you have a ton of free time, how about getting on an exercise program to get in better shape instead of sitting in your house with your drapes tight shut for a change?

After watching this video, I fear that matt bullard's job is in jeopardy. Perhaps the rockets will start outsourcing cheap labor from clutchfans posters such as DD.

    Nice job, DD.

Agreed with most of your analysis. Ish to the D-League. Jeffries over Hill would lead to more wins. Team currently stuck in no mans land.

Don't quite agree on Martin and Scola, although no one's untouchable.

Way to put yourself out there. It takes guts.

So D'Antoni knew what he was doing when he played Jeffries ahead of Hill last year?

Yeah, if he was going for wins, but in his situation, he probably should have been playing Hill to get a better draft pick....

I would like Morey to somehow pull off 3 trades that nets us Chris Paul, Danny Granger, and Andre Iguodala.

Great response. I agree mostly with the Kevin Martin comment. You just put it into context better than I ever could.

I do think that keeping Martin would not be a bad thing if we were to bring in a young talent that has a lot of opportunity to turn into something. Martin, to me, would be a GREAT second or third option to a guy that can create for himself and hit the open man.

DD this is quite honestly the best Rockets talk we have gotten from you (not to kiss your arse but true) thanks.

As far as Martin goes, my belief is Morey would rather pair him with a superstar or a 1b type of player. Do I think Martin could be had for the right price? Absolutely. Lee IMO could step in and start and be that two way player if Martin was traded.

Scola I feel the same as Martin, but believe Morey would be more apt to trade him.

As far as Chase not having the fast twitch muscles to D up like Battier, I disagree. CB has every bit the fast twitch muscles that Shane has and then some. With Chase I believe it's positioning and even more, that hard nosed mindset you need to get into someones grill.

Something you didn't cover, although I think I know what you'd say, is whether or not AB should start over Lowry. For the longest I thought AB should start, no more. I like what Lowry gives as a playmaker and D to start the game. I really like AB being a closer on this team. 4th quarter AB can be huge in the clutch, breaking down and frustrating defenses. He doesn't need to start to get into the flow of the game. I would like his role to be like Vinnie Johnson's with the Pistons. I absolutely love the way Lowry and Brooks compliment each other, too bad one of them is not 6'6 :)

Totally against tanking, so agree with you in the sense, play your vets now and see if there is a trade to make you better first. If Morey can't upgrade the team by the deadline, then the young guys must get more time. I'm not saying give up on gne season, but give them enough time to see what they have and where they need to improve.

I'm all for resigning Yao to a very cheap deal. What do you lose if he can't play on a cheap deal? Nothing, but the gains obviously would be great.

Patterson seems like he could be a Rocket for a long long time, I'm hoping he's not included if a deal goes down. I think 2Pats bball iq will allow him to be successful in any system, he just understands the game and will perform IMO.

Good stuff DD. You got me thinking quite a bit about the bigger picture instead of just thinking about the next game.

    great vid. ageed.

most important part about developing the young guys if we don't get a big trade before the deadline.
