You cut me deeply sir, yet your words ring of truth. Thanks for all the great comments, suggestions on how to improve the show are most welcome. MOST of them. DD
24, uh...thanks? Anyway, so far I have had a few people offer to join me, I would suggest that you get Skype and a video camera, at the very least we can talk back and forth and I can edit the video down into one that looks like a conversation etc. I like the idea of having board interaction where people suggest topics etc. DD
Not sure what a live thread is....but this McGrady news is overwhelming, and it changes everything with the video. DD
I would definitely butt heads with you PTI style if I had a webcam. You know how I feel about Maggette. I still think bringing in Hinrich on this team is overkill, especially in terms of salary. Their combined salary is $15 Million, a third of the allowed salary cap. We can't have a third of our cap tied up in two average point guards. Given the fact that Hinrich would need time to adjust, and may not start until sometime next year, paying him $10 Million a season is too steep of a price tag. Amare isn't happening. What makes Amare think his situation would be any better playing next to Yao? He's clearly a megastar playing in an open offense and well worth the money despite the balky knee risks... but in a half court offense he's just another underachieving overpaid big. Mike Miller makes sense for so many reasons. He's the classic low risk high reward move. His salary is only for another year and at less than $10 Mill. Mike Miller is basically a taller Kirk Hinrich at one-third the price. Miller moves well off the ball and does a great job of keeping the defense off balance and out of the paint. When the ball is in his hands, he's a true triple threat because hes tall enough to shoot over defenders, he's got exceptional passing vision and ability and he has the ability to put the ball on the floor. On top of all that, he's very willing to assume a role and has experience playing behind both T-Mac and Shane Battier. He knows how to play inside-out with a finesse big man like Pau Gasol. For fast and cheap results, Mike Miller is the hands-down best option. Let's consider another option. Vince Carter. We have the pieces to bring in Vince Carter and Sean Williams if we ship out Ron Artest, Carl Landry and Luther Head. Yeah, the contract would hurt but we also have the market to support another star like Vince Carter. With lots of international fans behind the Houston Rockets franchise, having a show-stopper like Vince may generate enough revenue to support his contract. While we'd be losing Landry, we get back someone who can change shots in the post with Sean Williams. I would definitely pursue Mike Miller and chew on the Vince trade.
DD talk about Ralph Sampson in your next video I guess you can compare Sampson's demise vs Tmac's. But hey, we got Ron, that's why he's here.
