Wife and watched it last night, can’t say I didn’t have a good time with it, but it’s got it’s issue. The movie moves really fast and visually borrows some of the worst elements from Synder, lots of slow mo, hero shots and washed-out visuals. It’s got Dwayne Johnson’s fingerprints all over it but man he’s crazy stiff and wooden trying to be dark and brooding, he can’t really pull it off. I enjoyed Aldis Hodge as Hawkman and Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate they were a lot more interesting than Black Adam. Its solid mindless fun but they throw some ideas out there that would have been cool if they’d taken a bit more time with the story….. C+

I'm more excited to see Hodge as Hawkman, that would make a great franchise IMO. I have been surprised there are so many other superhero type characters.
He was probably my favorite part of the whole thing, his performance the character design, it all worked.....
He is a veryy underrated actor I have been a fan since Leverage, he is the only reason I want to watch city on the hill. He would have been a great Black Panther or Green Lantern.
Rock is a producer on Black Adam. WB usually don't do that with their lead actors; but they want to work with the Rock. Seems somewhat backfired. As the reviews roll in; it's doesn't look good. People doesn't seem to like his portrayal. From a comics perspective, Black Adam and Shazam are the yin and yang. Those two should be paired, like Superman and Lex, Batman and Joker. Black Adam going directly to Superman is the Rock being greedy. Whomever is running the studio, should have a better sense on how the lore is supposed to be told. That and have a backbone.
My family and I saw it last night. Thought it was good. Has it's flaws, but very entertaining. Hawkman and Dr Fate characters bring a lot to the movie. In my opinion, worth going to see. The mid credit scene was cool. Curious to see where that goes. Please please don't screw it up.

after watching the rock talking about this movie during interviews, i was sure this would be the greatest super hero movie of all times. probably oscar worthy. why are some brehs unimpressed?
Spoiler: Mid Credit Scene Description A drone shows up in the throne room, a video link of Waller pops up. She tells Black Adam that he might have gotten out of one of her prison's but they aren't going to let him run wild. As long as he stays in the borders of his country, he'd decided to be it's protector in the finale, they wouldn't bother him but if he leaves those boarders they'll have to send in people to get him under control. Black Adam is dismissive, saying nobody on Earth can stop him and that she can send them all. Waller says she can call in a favor from someone who isn't from Earth. Something appears above Black Adam in the clouds, the John Williams Superman score swells and you see his silhouette in the clouds until he steps out. Cavil's Superman in full costume, hair curl and all, tells Black Adam They need to talk......
