At least it'll be better than the 70s TV show, but that's a low bar, 'cause it was made by Filmation.
Spiderman does it better. They'll be lucky if it's compared to the Garfield Spiderman. I'm really hoping they do a Martian Manhunter treatment that's half sci-fi, half tragedy. Probably not gonna happen the right way because they don't want to outshine the big three.
This really looks craptastic. I can't understand how DC can screw up the big screen versions of so many of my childhood comic heroes. Can Marvel Studios please just buy out DC Films and reboot everything the way it should be.
It looks like its gonna suck, I thought the same when I watched the aquaman trailer and was pleasantly proved wrong, here's hoping dc proves me wrong again
It looks like it was made for Pre-adolescents. "His name is Captain Sparkle Fingers." Maybe it's supposed to be light hearted, but all I'm seeing is a hulked up Jimmy Fallon.
The property itself kind of lends itself to be lighthearted....I mean it's about a kid who can turn into a full grown hero. Them going the BIG route for this character seems like the smart move.....projections have it opening around 48 Million on the first weekend......
Don't get me wrong. I hope it does well. It just doesn't call me, and I'm a DC fanboy. The more I look at it, the more I see DC's version of "Big" starring Jimmy Fallon on steroids. ...and I grew up watching Shazam on Saturday mornings. That and Isis.
Budget on the film was $90 million, so I'd assume DC would be very happy with that opening.....especially if it's well reviewing meaning it could have some legs to earn over a longer period of time. It's opening vs 2 other known properties, Pet Semetary and the Hellboy reboot, and it's expected to beat both.....
looks like a fun movie for the family. aquaman was a 4/10 with very bad, generic dialogue. this movie should be able to get away with some of those bad dialogues.
