did you make up the killer 6.7 rating for the NBA Finals??? or the fact that TV ratings for the NBA Finals have only been over 10 one time in the past 5 years. while the average MLB rating for the WS over the past 5 years is a 12.6???
Here come random images the 12 year-old could find! He doesn't embarass H-Town...he doesn't even live here.
The chicken or the egg? People would know more about the Rockies and Diamondbacks if ESPN would spend more time talking about something OTHER than the Yankees/Red Sox. I'm personally really excited about the World Series coming up. I really hope it's Rockies/Indians because I love it when you get to see something different. A World Series would mean a LOT to Colorado or Cleveland. Yankees/Red Sox fans need to grow up and realize the world is a little larger than their tiny states up in the northeast.
Not to mention that 3 of the 4 teams in the LCS are out of the top 20 payrolls in the game. I'm pumped to watch the Rockies in the World Series...hoping they win another for the NL.
Tiny states with HUGE populations. People need stop complaining about the high payrolls. If the support is there, the money will be there and so will the players. Simple economics.
If the Rockies win the world series I might just throw up in my mouth that would make the list of teams that have never won a world series Astros Padres Brewers Mariners Rangers Nationals D-Rays not a group you want to be a part of and of course we are hands down the largest city without one out of that group. It would be hard to root for the Red Sox, spending time up in the northeast you find out their fans are much worse to deal with than Yankee fans
we're on that list no matter who wins. i have a close friend from colorado...they're a great story. easy to root for!
i can't name you a single Rockies players. Keep in mind, I hate baseball. ESPN shoves the Red Sox/Yankees down your throat that you are forced to know these guys. why is that only in this sport? in nfl/nba, you still get to know the players of the other clubs. tiny cities like nashville.. etc
i'm shocked that a guy who hates baseball can't name one single Rockies player. you're a card-carrying member of the 6.7 rating club!!! woo hoo!!!!
but i can tell you who's on the red sox. if you hate the NFL or the NBA, you can at least name a player in their finals/superbowl. look at the NBA finals. Lebron, tim duncan, tony parker easy.
Wait wait...someone who hates baseball and loves basketball is saying the fact that he can name NBA players and not baseball players on an obscure team means baseball is less popular?
ESPN shoves the Red Sox vs Yankee thing down your throat because they need something to talk about (well that is positive all the roids talk and the crazy saleries), I used to love baseball now I watch only the Astros on tv (I will go to a game if I am in a different city) because the average game does not intrest me and I have found that the last five or six season unless the Astros are in it I am not watching the playoffs. Anyway the other thing that pisses me off about baseball are these imports from the far east and central america that don't speak english. You are getting paid crazy jack and you can't speak english? All these Euro NBA players speak english and Yao comes over and picks it up right away while Vlad has been the best right feilder in the AL for years and can't speak a word of English (I just can't relate to that).
san antonio is a small market team and people who don't watch basketball know who plays there. the rockies, a small market team, no one knows them. i haven't seen a commercial on TV with anyone of their players. Tim Duncan does TV commercials. I know who he is if I never watched an NBA game in my life.
