Wish they would hurry up and vote (hopefully pass) the change. I hate changing clocks twice a year. This bill was proposed by (D) Vikki Goodwin last month and if passed the voters will vote in Texas whether to keep it or get rid of it. https://capitol.texas.gov/BillLookup/History.aspx?LegSess=88R&Bill=HJR80
I am always confused on which time they are trying to abolish...is it getting rid of "Fall Back" where it gets dark as hell at 5pm, or not doing "Spring Forward?" I am in favor of abolishing the Fall Back crap, I would hate if that was year round.
I think we should mandate setting it ahead 3 hours RIGHT NOW AS YOU ARE READING THIS just to mess with folks
I love that Elon and Vivek, 2 unelected government bureaucrats, are now in charge filtering out the Deep State of the Government Bureaus of Unelected Beauocrats
Elon and Bozo have no authority to make decisions. All they can do is make suggestions to the administration. Whatever they suggest must be included in the major spending bills and approved by both houses of congress. Daylight time is one hour ahead of Standard time.
They really aren't in charge of anything and have no authority whatsoever. IMO, a permanent change to Daylight time would be the most significant thing they accomplish.
They can't alter budgets for the various agencies, but they can absolutely fire people. Which is exactly the plan: replace the competent ones with True Believers
Quite frankly, I can't see an 'evil' angle here, just two dorks in a sea of dorks who always b****ed about DST finally getting the chance to do something about it. I'll take the W. If I end up with a Neuralink implant that turns me into a meat-robot with a Tesla logo on my forehead because this was all the start of some genius nefarious plan, they earned it.
I must admit that a Foreign Born Apartiedist gives me great pause with Elon Dunno enough about the other guy. Son of immigrants etc etc etc The fact that both of them have deep roots in countries with strong beliefs in caste systems is concerning. Rocket River
With you on that. I'm not hopeful about things, but they always seem to turn back around eventually. Something for the "Things That Annoy You" thread: I managed to spell "bureau" correctly twice and went totally off the rails the 3rd time...and I didn't catch it in time to edit. It's been bugging me ever since.
If that's the plan instead of cutting the federal budget, it's a different story. Firing dept heads, generals and admirals and replacing them with loyalists will impact spending very little. Elon and Nitwit aren't involved with any purges. Their pipe dream is to chop $2B from the ~$7B federal budget. For them to make a statement like that makes me not take them seriously. It's stupid beyond comprehension.
I get ya, and sorry, but I need to not think/talk politics anymore, just for my general sanity. Good luck!
