We now have the answer… Really tough to take. I’d like to give the front office the benefit of the doubt, but the Brooks’ contract is so outlandish, I’m lost for words.
New coach didn't want high-ego veterans eroding his control. Makes perfect sense. I'm a Harden fan, but this was never going to work.
Harden is a great player but terrible fit with our personnel and coach. If we got Harden we need Vogel and trade Sengun. Also not sure what to do with Amen.
Harden would have been "win a few more game immediately and maybe make the playoffs," while what we need is "win a whole lot of games in a few years and compete for a title."
****ing ferntits made Harden's exit uglier when he leaked info about Harden's privileges and "the culture". After the trade, FO said there would be a vast improvement in team culture now that he was gone. Now all of a sudden, rumors came back that the Rockets would target and welcome back James with open arms?? FOH I know ferntits put on his ball and gag to not stick his foot in his mouth and STFU in public, but these leaky feel-good fan-friendly rumors reeks of Tillman's blowhard personality. They're all about promoting a terrible product and keeping interest without a solid vision or execution Rockets fans have expected from a world class franchise. They didn't even need the Harden rumors. Folks were mostly content with seeing how the rookie core develops, but with Harden comes expectations of Playoffs. Instead, folks are understandably upset that we couldn't nab 2 the year's top in class FA targets without dumping promising rookies despite years of getting checks for going under the cap, and no one is going to say those signings were good or great deals. The bar is so low that 35 wins would be a promising start, but all credit will go to Udoka.
