I saw David Wesley (former Rocket) at the Bank of America here in Pearland around noon. He walked to the line for the tellers and I spotted him and said,"David Wesley?" and he said,"Yeah whats up?" I just shook his hand and told him I was a fan, he said he appreciated it and we went our separate ways (I was on my way out)

Sorry no pictures, if this belongs in the Hangout, my apologies to the moderators.

yeah he stays out here in P-Ville.....my friend used to play basketball with him at local rec areas............my boy used to play him pretty well...I think he even dunked on him once....but that's not surprising at that point in David's career...............

I've seen him at the Pearland bowling alley with his family a few times. I was in shock and awe because he was the first professional athlete I had ever met. He's definitely a genuinely nice guy.

I go to Pearland pretty often. They have one of the best Hindu temples in the nation.

They sure do. I remember when that temple was so small.

For the thread: I have met Wesley a couple of times, he is a really nice guy.

Met Wesley and Bobby Phills on a trip to Puerto Rico about 10 years ago. It was during the Finals and I was playing Black Jack at the casino in the El Conquistador Resort. The big screens were off to my right, so I had one eye on the game and the other on my cards when down sits the two. I immediately recognized them, and after a couple hands, something happend on the TV that made everyone at the table stop and watch. I said "man, it must really be cool to play in the NBA Finals, it must suck for the other players to have to watch it on TV". They looked at me like what the hell dude, and then I looked back over at them and then laughed. They started to crack up, we all beat the dealer, and we continued to play for about another half hour, before they had to head out. Good guys the both of them, they signed a couple balls for some peoples kids on the way out. On a side note, that resort is/was really nice, but it's been a few years since my last visit, but would assume it hasn't changed much. That same trip, Harrison Ford closed down the marina bar the night I got there buying everyone drinks, and Mariah Carey was out by one of the pools. She owned a bungalow there, and so did MJ (I believe) but he wasn’t there.

Ha! You know your right, that would have been the Bulls v Jazz. Oh, and the TVs were to our left not right. There is a resturant there that makes an outstanding veal marsala.

I was a big fan before he even joined Rockets simply because he was a good shooter and quite simple guy.

i know this isn't david wesley related, but i'm 99% sure i saw Luis Scola driving north on Kirby taking a right on 2234 a few months ago. he was driving a black escalade or suburban and he was very obvious looking b/c he had jet black hair down to his shoulders, he looked to be too big for that car (which is hard to do) and it was about 4 PM before a 7:30 home game back in november. it was the game that the announcers were saying he had a dentist appt that day and had a procedure done.

anyways...i think it was him so for the pearland ppl, keep your eyes open for him in the area.
