The issue at hand isn't whether or not there's a practicality to bringing a firearm to the stadium. The issue is about Stern's readiness to infringe on others' rights. I don't think there's any need for players to a firearm to the stadium, however, I do see a practical need elsewhere. Therefore, I don't think prohibit this action is correct. I don't see how carrying a firearms makes you uncivilized. The right to carry a gun is determined by local law enforcement, not by the Stern. The only reason why he's "encouraging" rather than "enforcing" this, is because he can't violate the CBA just yet. This type of idiocy must be stopped. Just because people work thier asses off and make millions, they don't deserve any rights? I know misery loves company, but are you seriously that insecure?
So if I (regular avg citizen...i.e. not rich or famous) get a licensed concealed weapon, am I allowed to carry it with me at all times, even when I go to work?
i think if you have a gun, your more prone to do something drastic, but i dont disagree with him trying to change the NBA's image. do you really want to see NBA stars wearing shorts that sag near their ankles? i mean theyre just suits..they can endure that for 1+ hour. alot of these players make more than what we will make even if we aspire to be doctors...they need to present themselves as a millionare/superstar not a gangster..but thats imo..
Hip-hop attire is not "gangster". Are all the people with LEGAL, licensed concealed weapons more prone to do something drastic?
