A lot of what Cod's sources have told him are in regards to July, not now.
For example Kemba being targeted.
For example Rozier and Brown.

The playoffs this year are of extreme importance to the Celtics.
If they lose in the 1st or 2nd round then Kyrie will be leaving. They have to do well, and any trade that weakens their roster is out of the question.

 

I still think Marcus or Markeiff will be traded here.

 

And i don't even think we need those guys tbh, i mean, Kyle O. or Leaf, i like O'Quinn but with Faired here i don't see the need, and Leaf is on a rookie scale contract so, ok i guess, a young Ryan Anderson or a young Kevin Love (with less talent of course) though, meh...

 

Marcus is the second best player this season in Boston.
He may be expiring and they wont resign him but if they trade him it will create a massive hole in their rotation right now.
If it wasnt for him they probably would have like 5-6 less wins or something.

Markieff might be back in March. Marcus could be part of a trade package for Davis,but that is not likely right now. He is a UFA though, who will look for a big contract. I still think Ainge will retain him, and try to pay him in the off season. Boston is not desperate.

 

Beal and Jaylen Brown would be great even if it cost EGo IMO. Jeff Green and Satoransky would fit well with our group. I would definitely like to keep CC. But EGo, Knight, plus a pick (Ennis, Chriss) are all on the table.

Hopefully we keep CC and get a couple of those WAS players.

I agree, they're not desperate. but they can't wait to trade Marcus (if they were to trade him) until they're able to potentially trade for AD. He's an unresitricted free agent after this season. Ainge can try to retain him but they also risk the chance of losing him for nothing.

 

This doesn't make sense to me. "He may be expiring and they won't re-sign him." But they won't attempt to trade him? If he's traded I'm sure another player will fill that hole. Or else they risk losing him for nothing. Especially if Marcus and his brother will offer another discount to a team for the opportunity to play together again.

Some of the info does seem to point toward the summer, but maybe the Washington implosion will happen sooner rather than later.
