I wish I could like this post more than once.

It's a breath of fresh air seeing someone else realise that the max contract was a pre-requisite to Paul coming here in that trade.

    Holic is anti-capela poster.

    I'd say yes.

Buyout Faried and Deandre Jordan can replace Capela, but that could be a short term. Every team needs a permanent solution.

Thanks Nook. It seems no one is jumping on a deal yet, must be waiting for that extra incentive to bite. C'mon Morey add a little spice.

The last 11 games do tell us everything we need to know about Clint's importance.

How we went from 14-3 with an absolute gauntlet schedule, while blowing out teams on the regular, to 7-4 with every loss against a sub .500 team, or a blowout, while bearly squeaking out wins at home against the Knicks and Magic.

How we went from merely "bad" to "worst amongst all playoff teams" on defense.

How our defensive rebounding managed to get worse.

How Jalil Okafor went off against guys 5"+ shorter than him.

How our SRS, DEF rating, and OFF rating all went down in the last 11 games.

We were forced to replace him with Faried, and we are worse off because of it.

This makes sense to me. A trade like Mirotic for a 1st might be on the table up until the deadline, but for the Pelicans it makes sense for them to wait for something better even if that's just a team making the same deal who might finish 1 or 2 spots higher up the draft.

No. I just look at stat sheets..........

Dunno Doesn't affect our calculus. He could be a bonus. But not necessary. And he's in the same category as CC and Faried. Still won't be enough to beat the Warriors. We gotta get switchers.

sixers offer 2 second round picks/expiring for Mirotic.

Why didn't Morey make a bid by sending Knight/pick to 3rd team?

I like the deal for us but you could have made it a 4 way and sent Capela one way and added Butler to us as well. (YES, I am ignoring luxury for the sake of argument). Capela and AD on the same team don't fit...

To your deal Washington says no and NOLA says hell no. We're still sending out 4 picks. Where are they going? What happens to NOLA next year with Beal $27M, Wall $38M, Jrue $27M, Randle $9, Moore $9? That team is in the tax with no ability to get better and that's if you don't bring back Mirotic. I know you say move everyone out but Demps knows what happened to Hinkie and he will be stained by the AD trade right or wrong being controlled by Mickey Loomis. NOLA is not NY. For example, you say move Beal for picks but you still have to take salary back while you are tanking because Wall is gone all year, if not FOREVER. That's a tremendous risk up front. That's still a low lottery treadmill team. That doesn't seem different than Wash. With that roster you would want to keep Beal to pair with Jrue so you keep player value up to wait to dump Beal next year after Wall gets back. You can never move Wall so you need Beal to play well so you have a team that is on the rise and protect the value of your assets. You are stuck with the players on the team and cannot easily engineer losses like the Suns or Knicks so it makes sense to have a competitive team next year that restores fan excitement after losing AD. Then you have the dread of Wall replacing Beal because you cannot keep both (AND THEY DON'T WORK TOGETHER). Now we are into 2021 and nothing has really changed. NOLA takes tremendous risks up front for no real change with very little upside. Why? Lost in all of this is NOLA would love to have Beal and you are selling them on getting him so they can dump him to keep Wall who they don't want. You see the problem there?

I hate the Lakers and hope the trade doesn't happen but it makes a hell of a lot more sense than this scenario. Also Boston or Toronto. NOLA would want to get stars to quickly recover but not be crippled permanently with Wall. Capela and Gordon fit the mold of what they would want much better than Wall/Beal and I doubt they want that package.

I’m thinking that since it’s so quiet Morey May have some things working.

You’re right, clock is ticking. James won’t be this great forever and may not be happy standing pat.

What's crazy and scary is I believe Harden will be even better next season. The problem is, after another MVP season, he won't be as patient next season in regards to help he needs for post season success, and who's to say he'll want to wait as long as next post season before demanding a trade elsewhere? He'll have every excuse to leave.

Sometimes he goes by @DaDakota sometimes @BigBum sometimes @basketballholic and when he wants to throw shade at Tilman for being cheap he'll use @Carl Herrera

you are going nowhere with tatum and holiday as your star duo (tatum isnt even an allstar in the weak east)
and jalen brown is not even a prospect for the star category .. he is just an athletic player playing for a good coach

they are players whose success is blown out of proportion due to playing for a good coach/system and playing in the weak east

and if they take these 2 then pels can wish good buy to 4 first round picks (coming alongside) copela and cp3

that team i am not sure if would made playoffs in the west

with capela cp3 and holiday you have a legit big 3 plus 4 1st round picks to play around...
you are guaranteed playoffs my son and contender status
with tatum and brown you are guaranteed to hope to get better and hope to develop and not every coach can do that and many talented players never develop into stars

only if celtics would give 4 picks alongside tatum and brown then the offer could pretend to be close to the level cp3 and capela plus picks

although non of the players offered nor possible picks offered can even dream of becoming cp3 good
