So let me get this straight. Between now and this summer, the following will happen:

1. We give up whatever assets it takes to acquire John Wall without somehow waving a white flag on our playoff hopes
2. He recovers from surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon, sufficiently to play by May
3. We "rehab" him by showing the rest of the league how much better he is than before
4. Teams beat a path our door, showering us with valuable assets, along with gold baubles and trinkets, for this new MegaSuperstar
5. Clint Capela is no longer wearing a Rockets jersey

It's more imperative than ever to acquire Wall, now that he's total negative value and will have to be combined with an asset to be moved.

Usually the smaller trades that could happen are on hold until everyone sees what's happening with the big fish.

Basically, until near Thursday deadline, either AD gets traded, or New Orleans holds onto him until the summer. (If he's dealt now, we might be able to trade with Boston. If not, we won't; Boston holds onto their chips. And so on.)

When AD's fate is known (stay or go), that's when the prunes and Raisin Bran, stewed zucchini and lentils kick in: good-bye constipation. The dyke bursts. The turds flow. Kind of an Ents-and-Isengard thing.
