It's dorky-ass Stephanie - she's been on all the time. A 6 on a 10 point scale if you ask me.

    this is blatantly false.

in every state (that I know of) that recognizes common law marriage requires more than just living with someone for years. The couple has to make representations to others that they are actually married. For example, Dave would have to go around introducing the lady as his spouse/wife.

    just pointing it out.

It's been in the news for several months now. You don't even really have to try to look at it...

No it's dorky ass stephanie. The guy they arrested was her live-in boyfriend and he stole her diary etc.

Have not seen it. I read my news though so maybe that's why.

I was joking but I guess a few of you take late night talk show ratings very, very seriously. I will make sure to never mention this again.

I'm not thinking about the cheating or girlfriend or married issued, but just the straight up blackmailing thing is probably pretty hard on him. What I mean is that, IIRC, Letterman has had a history of crazies in his life right? He had a stalker for long time who broke into his house and pretended to live there. Then wasn't there also a kidnapping/ransom attempt on his son?

So to have someone break into his car, leave a package, and have this threatening language on it...I can understand him being truly shaken. Even if he is scum, I don't think he handled it like per say a mob scumbag would who goes into cover-up mode or whatever.

He came across sincere in him being scared for his family and his own safety when he sad the things about wondering if there was someone under his car. And it makes sense given his history.

It's more than one though, right?

I think it's probably more than one.

I mean, his current wife used to be a staffer. So, he definitely finds his relationships at work.

The bigger question is should Spitzer, the New Jersey and South Carolina Governors and every other cheating SOB that Dave has mocked get to come on the show and drop their own Top 10 list on Dave? I don't watch late night TV (still miss Craig Kilbourn) but there is a massive double standard here. Public figures are public figures. Dave is getting a pass on this.

He wasn't even married, and by all accounts, the affairs stopped when his son was born.

come on..the marriage thing is a technicality. he's been in a relationship with the mother of his child for 25 years, roughly. i don't know what their "rules" are...but my bet is she had no idea he was doing this and would have been upset had she known...and he kept it secret from her on purpose. there's nothing good about that. wanna have sex with someone?? fine...but if you're in a committed relationship there are other things to consider.

but it was a mistake...we're all imperfect.

Anyone remember back in the 80's when Dave used to constantly call that chick that worked in the building next to him? He seemed to be pretty smitten by her. Now, I wonder if he was hitting it the whole time.

sleeping with one staffer could be a mistake but not with multiple staffers...he knew what he was doing.

Totally agree, I'm not perfect either, but I do think Dave needs to at least consider curbing his monologue content when this subject comes up.

    when i say mistake, i don't mean "oops!! i didn't know i was doing that!!" :)

i meant somethng he should not have done that he did anyway. i'm not trying to diminish what he did was wrong. it was.

Dave should have them come on the show and do it. It would be a ratings bonanza.
