Damn thats a good deal for GS. I expect scola to get about 8 mil then. Just in case anyone like the nets were looking to overpay for scola, now they know that anything close to 12 mil is insane
So true!! He definitely didn't garner the explicit interest that multiple teams demonstrated with Lee. I guess all of the "GMs" on this board just differ in opinion on Scola's value with the GMs of other teams. There has to be some pyschoanalytical theory that this - Rocket fans placing a much higher value on a Rocket player than a non-Rocket NBA fan or GM would - could be classified under (it happens with Battier and Hayes also).
@chadfordinsider David Lee has now agreed to a 6 year, $80 mil deal with the Warriors via a sign-and-trade with the Knicks. Link is coming ...
The most important question is did the Knicks just piss away their capspace on Randolph, Azbuike, and Turiaf?
Look at that. Every one was reporting that David Lee was virtually a done deal with the Warriors, and then Chad Ford reports that his agent says, no, no, no ... I have no idea where this is coming from, still 5 teams, blah, blah, blah. Then 60 seconds after LeBron's decision, Ford says Lee is going to the Warriors in a sign-and-trade. That was all set up to avoid that Mourning scenario.
@SpearsNBAYahoo Warriors expected to finalize sign and trade with NYK tomorrow to acquire forward D Lee, source tells Y! Randolph, Turiaf & Azubuike to NY. Are they going to help the Knicks? Randolph I'm guessing at C. The other two, bench fodder.
I really dislike this deal from Houston's standpoint. The reason why the Knicks were going to suck so badly this year was that they still would have had one of the worst supporting casts in the league along with Amar'e. Now they have a serviceable back-up PF/C in Turiaf, and promising, talented young Randolph, and a very good role player in Kelenna. This actually makes them a respectable team this year. They're going to be the 8th seed, IMO.
Why would David Lee do this though? This makes absolutely no sense from his standpoint..the warriors???
How are they the 8th seed? D'Antoni is bringing his system from the Phoenix Suns to the Knicks. It's still worse than D'Antoni's Phoenix Suns(without Steve Nash). He managed to win only 21 games out of 61 games that he coached. http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/PHO/2004.html Jake Voskuhl vs Eddy Curry tie, It's a wash, they both suck. Amare(Phx) vs Amare(NY) NY, Amare has improved offensively, but not defensively or rebounding wise. Amare Shawn Marion vs Anthony Randolph Phx, Randolph isn't nearly as good as Shawn Marion, back in the day. Joe Johnson vs Wilson Chandler Phx Barbosa vs Toney Douglas Phx Before the Suns, he coached the Nuggets and won only 14 games. http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/DEN/1999.html
At least point out the fact that the 14 wins were posted in the strike shortened season. Of course only winning 28% of your games with Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess, & Nick Van Exel is pretty ****ing terrible.
It was in a strike shortened season. If he wins 28% of 82 games, it's 23 wins. It's still a high lottery pick. D'Antoni's record without Nash is consistent. Without Nash, Denver, Phoenix, and NY have made the lottery each season with D'Antoni's mastermind offense.
