Care to elaborate on why it was so bad? I read from Sammy that him and EVH basically weren't talking to each other the whole tour. So, Sammy is apparently on the outs again...if VH is even a band any more. They seem to be a band at their convience. I guess we can expect another album and tour in another five years.
They were uninspired, off-time, and Sammy's vocals were horribly out of key. Their onstage banter was pathetic. It was ear splittingly loud. When EVH whipped out that idiotic power drill and started running it across his guitar strings, me and the friend I went with walked out. We were sitting in a club level suite, and had all the free booze and food we could handle. The fact that we walked out of that situation should give you a very good idea of how pathetically bad they were that evening.
i actually enjoyed the concert but for me it was probably just getting to see one of my favorite bands ever play live for the first time. i hate that stupid power drill as well and eddie was completely WASTED but i put it past me. more and more it seems like eddie is the reason van halen is in the state it's in now. he needs to get his **** together, he can still play.
A friend of mine said DLR rocked when he played here last year or so. His VH tribute band kicks butt.
I think the best part of that video was seeing Larry the Cable Guy sitting next to Tim Russert. DLR is done. Please, for the love of G-d, give it up.
