really? see, i wouldn't say that at all. last season the guy threw for 3500 yards and 16 TD's with an 83.5 QB rating. that in just his 3rd season with an expansion franchise. i think he has the talent to get it down. i'm not sure if he'll be able to do that here, though...even if they do improve the OL. there may be too much water under the bridge.

Yeah but we will never have a DFENSE close to the Ravens or the 80's Bears. Unless you're investing all you money on the D then is a different story. But look at how much Carr makes!! $8mil bonus just to be on the team next year? and it'll be his 5th year. He's damage and is NOT WORTH the investing anymore. I guess we'll just have to FIX the OLINE and wait a couple of years from now and Carr will end up like Tim Couch/ Joey Harrington then we'll just say "OH CARR wasnt it ... lets start all over"

(Is just sad if we have to pass up Leinart or Reggie Bush because we have to keep this boy)

which is why you need to clean house NOW....Front office and coaching staff included....for Carr to get some confidence that changes are coming.

What's really sad is if we pass on Ferguson and the crop of elite left tackles to watch Leinart or Bush become one of the biggest busts in NFL history behind this offensive line.

If Domanic Davis can run for 100 yards per game behind this O-line then how in the hell would Reggie Bush be a bust behind this O-line?

Lol like every week .... play against the Texans and watch the other team cover. (that's the only bright side for me all year so far)

Yards per rush... yards per rush. Davis had a pretty good game yesterday... until you consider he rushed 28 times and still couldn't get to 100. Also, Davis overachieves because he has good leg drive and can move piles forward. A blazer like Bush doesn't have that... he needs holes and lanes, and we simply don't have many of them.

Furthermore, Bush as a running back alone isn't that special. It's his ability to come out of the backfield and line up as a receiver that makes him elite... and that skill is essentially meaningless without pass protection.

If you have a top 3 pick...you take the best player available period. We already have a QB. But no disrespect to Domanick Davis....he's a good back...but he's just not as good or as explosive. You would draft Bush for the present and more importantly the future...when we WILL have better protection...there is no doubt in my mind that Reggie Bush will be the best player in the draft.

But how are we going to get this better protection? We've tried it through free agency. It doesn't work. Elite talents sign where there is a proven success record. We've tried it through the mid-rounds of the draft (Pitts, Wand). It doesn't work. If you have a top draft pick and pass up the chance to get an elite talent at left tackle, I don't know what else there is to say. If there's anything that we should have learned these last four years, it's that you can't just assume that protection will come.

That clearly must be management's approach to the o-line. Because they sure as hell haven't done anything else. Perhaps they can sign that Pepsi machine to play left tackle.

Exactly. I'm not nearly as sold as you are on Carr. I think Ware had some interesting comments about him and his ability to know when to get rid of the ball which is something he should know how to do regardless of how much he's under pressure.

However, we could have David Carr, Brett Favre, Terry Bradshaw or any other QB short of Jesus and we'd be having the same results. I'm going to pop the next person who says we should draft Reggie Bush or Matt Leinart. If we don't use our first pick on an OL next April, then I will have completely lost faith in this organization.

You're one step behind me. I gave up on Casserly and Capers during the offseason.

One positive note: I love Battle Red Day. I think that's a great tradition, particularly for a pro team.

I really think we should draft Reggie Bush if he's available. :)

Hey man, i'd like to have Bush on my fantasy sqad about right now. I have Vick going tonight and i'm down by only 5, but my opponent has Dunn going so we'll see! I think you and I play each other in two weeks....

Eh, I can't even be that upset anymore. But it would be fun to talk trash about you're starting Jamal Lewis against my soon-to-be fantasy juggernaut. :D

One rookie offensive lineman isn't going to make that big of a difference next year...I don't care how much of a stud they were in college...You take the best player available....and that imho is Bush (besides this is TEXAS after all, how can we pass up a guy with the name of Bush!!!)....Domanick Davis is expendable at that point...you arguably could trade him for another 1st rounder. Teams aren't going to quake in fear of us because we took a stud O-Lineman in round 1...now the other option...is we trade the pick to a team so desperate that they are willing to offer their arms, legs, ears, eyes and nose for a guy like Lineart or Bush. Like Dallas did with Herschel Walker.
