Your right, he was the pretty much unquestioned first overall pick because he was bad. I'm sure when he was picked you were projecting him to bust.
and again, you never answered: Jamarcus Russell, was the unquestioned first overall, Tim Couch was the first overall. and some people wouldnt mind at that time, if the Colts picked Ryan Leaf, a lot of scouts said Leaf was better, the Colts almost picked Leaf, and it wouldnt be a bad decision at that time, also the Chargers to pick Leaf 2nd they traded a lot of picks, so obviously they tought Leaf was going to be the chargers QB for years. so just because a player is an unquestioned first pick, doesnt mean that he s going to be good in the NFL. and obviously, the raiders didnt project russell to be a bust, the browns thought they would have a nice playoff run with Tim Couch as the starting QB.
I'm not disputing anything you said. In my opinion, all the quarterbacks you mentioned are good players, but they just couldn't find a right situation and it never worked out in the NFL for them.
His little brother is the starting QB at fresno st. Seems to be doing pretty well. Wouldn't be surprised if he is a mid to late round draft pick in 2014
SRSLY? ^ Dude. They lost to TULSA. TULSA, of all teams... Wouldn't "GREAT QUARTERBACKS" work in ANY system?
Tulsa has been a solid mid-major in recent years. They're not Boise or (formerly) TCU, but they're a solid mid-major who can beat a great team on a good day.
